Completely block an artist so that they go from all your playlists at once.

In this day and age where scandals come out about artists every other week I’d really like to be able to block out those bands that I no longer want to hear. I have 591 playlists spanning at least a decade of my musical tastes and pouring through that collection to clear out every instance of, for example, RHCP would take hours!

It could be that they become ‘unavailable’ so you can still see them in the playlist but they are greyed out. But please, help me out here!

This is actually a different feature from the one I’m describing. I want to be able to block an artist from playing completely- not just from flow.

You can exclude an artist from being recommended again on the artist profile, but that will not delete all their tracks from existing playlists including your favorite songs. So there is no other way than use the search option of each playlist and then highlight the found tracks to remove them from that playlist. The max. track limit for a playlist is 2k, so you could at least merge smaller playlists into one, so the procedure does not take that long.

You also would have to check your saved albums and delete the ones from the unwanted artists individually.

Thats a very convoluted process that doesn’t take into account listening to playlists made by other people. It seems to me to be a very basic feature to have!

Blocking the artist isn’t enough. I would like a feature that deletes all knowledge of the artist’s existence from my brain so that it is like I’ve never heard of them. Ideally I would also get an electric shock if I ever inadvertently heard their song on the radio somewhere so that I know I shouldn’t be enjoying that particular song.

Seconding this. I would consider switching to Deezer if I would be able to fully block artists from playing/seeing them.

Some artists have trauma attached to them and I would like to be able to block and remove them entirely.
