Can't dislike songs on Nest Hub anymore?

Although Deezer (annoyingly!) lacks a button to indicate like/dislike of a song on Nest Hub, I’ve reluctantly got used to telling it (i.e. via voice commands) that I dis/like a song.

I recall reading something recently (1-2 months ago?) about some changes to flow?

Since then (1-2 months?) I can’t tell it (i.e. via voice command to Nest Hub) that I dislike a song.

It just replies:

Sorry, I didn’t understand

So when it plays something terrible, I can only skip the track … then it inevitably plays something similar 5 minutes later!

I specifically liked Deezer for flow. How do I get it back to a feature I enjoy instead of something that I hate?

Hey @Damienuk 👋

Have you checked that you have the latest version of the Deezer app installed on your Nest Hub?

The right voice command that you are looking for, should work, according to our support article 😁

You can ask Google to do a lot more, such as telling you what song is playing, skipping to the next track or even adjusting the volume using these commands:

  • "Ok Google, next song"
  • "Ok Google, skip forward 10 seconds"
  • "Ok Google, shuffle"
  • "Ok Google, play this song again"
  • "Ok Google, repeat this song"
  • "Ok Google, who is playing?"
  • "Ok Google, I like/dislike this song"
  • "Ok Google, set volume to 5"
  • "Ok Google, set volume to 40"

If you are having issues with the Hub, I would suggest you to try to ‘dislike’ the artist/song in your account via your Deezer mobile app, so it won’t appear or play while you are using Deezer on your Hub 😀

Unfortunately there is no app as far as I know. It works as described here: https://support.deezer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115003803629-Deezer-on-Google-Nest-Audio

And meanwhile, while playing a song on the Hub the mobile app is blissfully unaware of anything; so dis/liking a song on the mobile app isn't practical because first you have to manually search for the song, or use song catcher on it.

Hello @Damienuk have you followed these steps already?

Thanks

Yes.

Those might be great steps to follow if I was unable to play music on my device - but my problem is there’s no way to tell Deezer (on this device) that the music it’s playing is junk. I can only:

  • Play previous
  • Pause/play
  • Play next

The behaviour in your support article (to like/dislike a song via voice command) is exactly what I need, and what previously worked fine - but has not worked for the last few months. Please fix it!!

Even better, just add a button to like/dislike on the UI!
