Bug Report: Add to Queue now does the same thing as Play Next

So what’s the difference between Add to Queue and Play Next, then? Because they literally have the same function right now.

I really preferred the old Add to Queue because I could create a whole queue and then just let it play. Now I have to have it in the back of my mind when I reach the end of the playlist to add stuff, or manually move every single track around to accommodate this issue. This makes very little sense.

I agree with you so much. It's so annoying, so frustrating.

I reported it as a bug but they told me they change the Add to queue and from my use it's the same as play next. I don't understand why changing this feature, specially if it does the same as another one.

I also want the old behaviour back

It feels like people did not talk to each other when “redesigning” this feature. It’s patently obvious when you test with both buttons; they do exactly the same thing. I’m actually not sure the UX team realized the Play/Listen Next button was there or something. I say this as a software developer having worked in UX/UI myself for ten years. 

At this point, it seems either:

• The button’s functionality should be returned back to normal.
• The buttons’ (plural, here) iconography should be changed to try to illustrate what they do differently. (but they literally do nothing different at all at this point in time, so...)
• One of the buttons should be removed to make way for… idk, a new one that does what Add to Queue did already before?

I hope it’s pretty clear that the latter two options are just silly from an organizational/software engineering perspective. This should be treated as a bug to a feature that required no “redesign.”

I’m typing this right now with an album going on, while sitting on a new album I want to queue afterwards… but I can’t. Please fix this ASAP. It’s really obnoxious and frustrating.

Can you at least tell me what a user is expected to do now if they want the old functionality? Like what process they should go through?

Unfortunately you can’t go back to old functionality. I’ve shared all your feedback with our devs and they are looking into it now.

Awful, awful decision they’re trying to pass off as a “feature”. Made a complaint about it a month ago and still nothing.

Between this BS, the loss of ability to reorder songs in playlists in the desktop app, and nobody from support answering my emails about the incorrect calculations for the monthly recaps I’m about to completely switch off deezer.

The three of the most basic functionalities you expect out of a music app are completely messed up. I’m 90% certain they’ve completely switched to vibe coding with how, in the span of two months, this app has become so frustrating to use.
