Android Auto Voice Commands

Hi there 👋

When asking android auto to play a specific artist via Google assistant, only the first song will be from the requested artist before a mix of similar artists will start playing instead.

I've tried commands such as "play artist on Deezer" and "play songs by artist on Deezer" which previously would of worked on Spotify.

Is there a voice command which will get Deezer to play songs only by one artist?

hey @keoniadams

as @Yula wrote above and linked the resource doc to, with Android Auto Google is your friend, and Siri handles CarPlay.

even with the new Android Automotive, Google handles all the commands. Many of the limitations and restrictions are imposed because it’s an application for cars, this is also why the Google Play Store is so limited with its selections.

Hi @veritas52, I completely understand your concerns about the Android Auto integration.

It can be really discouraging when things don’t work as you hoped, especially during long commutes.

I’ll make sure to share your feedback with our team.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Any Updates on this? I think it should be fairly easy to implement since this functionality is already present in the App. Its super annoying and is probably the only bug which stops me from migrating from spotify

That's sad to hear. I ditched Spotify and tried deezer. And so far it’s been a very good replacement. But not supporting voice commands in android auto is a show stopper for me. I won’t use the car display to look for a song I like to hear.

First I thought it was a config error from my side, but reading a three years old thread about this issue with no eta or plan to support voice commands is just hilarious😅

Any news on this “know issue that developper has been working on a fix for 2 years” ?

I’ve been a long time Deezer user but as I now have to use my car a lot this is seriously making me consider moving to the competition. Voice commands on Deezer are barely usable, try to listen to an artist and you get a mix instead ot the top tracks, try listening to a specific song and half the times you get a cover, live version or accoustic version. This is seriously infuriating.

I have to throw my hat in the ring on this issue too. I'm fairly new to Deezer after giving Spotify the boot, and I like it so far. But this problem is my number one complaint, nearly to point of going to another app. I drive quite a bit, and I rely on voice commands for changing music. I also often listen to albums in their entirety. Flow is fine when I chose it, but it's not what I'm after 90% of the time. Please look into it, I'd really prefer to stay with you guys!
