Who is the “Man’s Best Friend”?

Sabrina Carpenter's new album, Man’s Best Friend”, was released on August 29 2025 and it's already causing a stir - stunning listeners with its audacious blend of sharp humor, genre-jumping production and unapologetic sensuality.

100% Pop Vibe

Calling it “a party for heartbreak, a celebration of disappointment,” Carpenter describes the record as emotionally exposed yet energetically bold.

The album spans just over half an hour and weaves through country-pop, R&B balladry, disco-inflected dance-pop, and clever double entendres.

Female Autonomy

Tracks like “Tears”, “House Tour” and “Manchild” (my favourite), showcase Carpenter’s wit - with razor-sharp commentary on toxic masculinity and female autonomy. She flips submissive tropes to reassert her own narrative dominance.

Under Jack Antonoff’s guidance, the album nods to icons like ABBA and Fleetwood Mac, while incorporating colorful sonic textures - live instruments, clavinet, sitar and a gogo drums - to keep it fresh and detailed.

The cheeky art cover

That striking cover - depicting Carpenter kneeling as a man grips her hair like a leash - sparked debates about sexism and irony. Carpenter defended it on American TV, saying it aligns with the album’s exploration of control and self-awareness and quipped, “Y’all need to get out more”. She also offered an alternate cover for fans who preferred something less provocative.

Our Verdict: Man’s Best Friend” is cheeky, daring pop with depth under its glitter. It won’t please everyone but that’s exactly the point.

OK. Fancy an “Espresso” now?
