Duplicate artist accounts

Why are there more than one artist account, is it a typo or it was made by purpose (artist had another nickname)?

For example, I found that J. Cole has two accounts: first of them has new music and it's called "J. Cole", and the second one has only his old music and it's called "J Cole" (without a dot) — is it a typo or was it made by purpose?

And if it was a typo, how could I report it in the future?

@helene.deezer, can you also pass them those two links: Aminé and Amine? This account has been also split.

Hi @yalexaner if you paste the artists profile links here I can send them to the catalog them for them to have a look and make sure that everything is in the right place.

Please note that we are cataloging content exactly as the labels are sending them to us. So if they started sending us music under "J. Cole" but then changed to "J Cole" our system thinks they are 2 different persons. We have to manually make the correction if that happens 😉.

@helene.deezer, here they are: J. Cole and J Cole.

Can I somehow do it for myself like in Spotify where I could change artist, name or anything else of any song?

Hi @yalexaner thanks for the links, I'll pass them to the catalog team. I'm afraid only Deezer has access to the back-end, and distributors.

I really want to see a feature as I saw in Spotify to make improvements in Deezer music database.

There might be some mistakes that are made in artist names or music titles, I already found a couple of them, and I wanted to improve them, but I wasn't allowed to.

There are two separate music groups in the library - Brand New Heavies and The Brand New Heavies, but this is the same group.

Currently trying Deezer out but don’t understand why there are 182 artists for Vishal-Shekhar? The cataloue does need improving :)

Hi @yalexaner, if you paste the artists' profile links here, I can send them to the catalog to make sure everything is correct.

Content is cataloged exactly as it is sent to us by labels. Consequently, our system will think they are two different people if they started sending us music under "J. Cole" and then changed it to "J Cole". In that case, we must manually make the correction 😉

Hi  @Rafaela Massagardi thanks for reporting this duplication in our catalogue.

I have merged all content to this artist page - https://www.deezer.com/en/artist/76714.

If you detect more misplaced content or duplicated pages, please share it with us.

I've saw that Mediaeval Baebes (https://deezer.page.link/juDY9gwEMnKfgGSU7) have another page (https://deezer.page.link/on2Ztd6hQxrk2EAR6). Could you please merge them into one account?

(The best name would be "Mediæval Bæbes)

Ps: I know I have asked before to merge their pages into one, but I've notice this third one just now.
