Here comes the new beta 8.0.33, we hope you will like the improvements made in this version. Do not hesitate to give your feedback!

Improvements:

▷ [FAVORITES] We added the possibility to sort and search for content in the new “Downloaded music” page

▷ [SETTINGS] We enabled per-app language preferences for the Deezer app
This means that people using a device running on Android 13 (or more) can now select a specific language for the Deezer app without changing the language of their entire device.

Bug fixes:

▷ [ADS] We made sure ad banners remain displayed in artist pages when switching the device to landscape mode

▷ [SEARCH] We made sure Japanese characters are correctly processed when searching for content with a Japanese keyboard

Alright, good news ... So when can we expect a fix for:

a) The issue with MP3 file cover art not displaying,

b) Downloaded playlists not showing up when offline,

c) The "You're not connected to the internet" error when trying to add a downloaded song or playlist to the play queue

Thanks!

When can we expect all the Chromecast issues?

Unfortunately Deezer is the only service which cant handle Chromecast in a good way...and there are so many other several annoying bugs!

Ya this one bothers me. The cover art shows up properly in the “my mp3s” section, but NOT in the favourite tracks section. The artist name is also missing in the favourite tracks section for uploaded mp3s.

Edit: nevermind, seems like it was a side effect of installing via Aurora

Hey @TehPenguin, could you clarify on what the side effect was? I also installed via Aurora, and I'm wondering what issues it might have caused.

Deezer stopped appearing in Android Auto. Workaround is to enable untrusted sources in AA developer settings.

Hello @Roger Flores

Following on the issues you mentioned:

  • Downloaded playlists not showing up when offline
Our team try to reproduce the bug with many configuration but couldn’t
  •  The "You're not connected to the internet" error when trying to add a downloaded song or playlist to the play queue
Unfortunately it has been flagged “as design”

I’ve come back to Deezer after reaching the end of the road with Spotify.

I have had so many troubles with the app I’m beginning to think about going back.

  • Chromecasting is flimsy. Sometimes it will play it to the chromecast, and then play on my phone.
  • At this point I close the app and it carries on playing. The only way to stop this is to reboot my phone.
  • Downloads say they’re downloaded but won’t let me play them offline.
  • The app is so slow. I’ve had 5G signal and it says ‘just a few more minutes’. On the same signal I opened Spotify and it played straight away. (my settings are standard for mobile data streaming
  • Adding tunes to the queue/play next makes no difference. It carries on doing what it wants.

I love the sound quality. I love the concept. But wow. The user experience is lacking.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have a Pixel 9.
