Android Beta Release Note 9.0.8

Here comes the new beta 9.0.8, we hope you will like the improvements made in this version. Do not hesitate to give your feedback!

Important note : We updated the minimum SDK version of our app from 23 to 26, meaning a bump from Android 6 to Android 8. As a result, users with Android 6 or 7 operating on their mobile won’t be able to install version 9.0.8 nor the next versions. They can still install the previous version for now though.

Improvements:

▷ [CONVERSION] We modernized the Student offerwall for it to support Student offers, and we added a new “commitment” field to support all offer configurations

▷ [RECOMMENDATION] We added a tooltip in the player to highlight the Flow wheel and educate users on where to find it. The tooltip appears when you launch a Flow config for the first time upon opening the player.

▷ [SEARCH] The "Top Result" block alignment has been improved for large screens: it is now anchored to the left (LTR) or right (RTL) instead of being centered, providing better consistency across different screen sizes.

▷ [SEARCH] We added options menus on main content types (i.e. albums, artists, playlists, podcasts, episodes) in search results, creating a more homogenous display across recently played, classic results, and top result sections

Bug fixes:

▷ [AUTO] Images are no longer pixelated and now render in high quality across all content displayed in Android Auto, even when loaded from cache

▷ [CONVERSION] We corrected an error that appeared in the Premium tab after fresh install and login with an existing free user: the tab’s content is now displayed correctly on first attempt

▷ [OFFLINE] We fixed a critical ANR (Application Not Responding) issue that occurred when long-pressing on tracks without covers in the queue list while offline

▷ [SOCIAL] We fixed an issue to prevent the app from crashing when returning to a content page with the share menu open after a period of inactivity
