Android Beta Release Note 9.0.16

Here comes the new beta 9.0.16, we hope you will like the improvements made in this version. Do not hesitate to give your feedback!

Improvements:

▷ [LIBRARY] The shuffle play button in the “Downloaded music” page has been moved to the top navigation bar for a cleaner, more accessible layout

▷ [ONBOARDING] A new progress indicator is now shown in the navigation bar of the artist picker screen during onboarding, giving users clear visual feedback on how many artists they've selected and when they've reached the minimum required to continue

▷ [ONBOARDING] We improved the suggested artists selection in the artist picker screen so suggested artists remain visible after a genre change, even after deselecting a related artist

▷ [SETTINGS] We are rolling out the redesigned and restructured Android settings to all Deezer users in this version.
Note: These new settings are similar to the iOS settings, which were revamped in January 2025.

Bug fixes:

▷ [LIBRARY] We fixed the display of the carousel covers in the Favorite tracks page so they now appear as proper squares on all device sizes, including smaller screens

▷ [OFFLINE] We made sure synchronized content images no longer download over mobile data when the user has set the app to download on WiFi only

▷ [ONBOARDING] We fixed a bug where selecting a pre-loaded artist from search results in the artist picker screen during onboarding did not scroll the grid to the top, making the selection appear invisible to the user

▷ [ONBOARDING] We made sure well-known artists consistently appear at the top of search results in the artist picker screen during onboarding, regardless of how the artist name is typed progressively

▷ [PROFILE] We fixed the track mix playing state in the compatibility tab (“Their music, meant for you” section from a friend's profile) — the track cell now consistently reflects the correct playing state and allows pausing/resuming the mix

▷ [RADIO] We fixed a regression introduced in version 9.0.11 where fingerprint track information (cover, title, add to favorites button, queue list) was no longer displayed in the player when listening to musical livestreams like RFM, Chérie FM or Nostalgie

▷ [RECOMMENDATION] We made sure the covers of the "Mixes for you" section (aka “Smart Tracklists”) in the homepage are properly displayed using cached data when the user is offline or has a poor connection

▷ [SONGCATCHER] We fixed a bug in SongCatcher where tapping the "Play" button on a found song wasn't launching the track mix as expected
