Songs playing in wrong language

Hi

Some songs are playing the wrong language when the songs are placed in playlists or in favourite tracks. This happens for some korean songs. If i play them from my favourite tracks it will play the song in Japanese while im actually clicking on the korean version, but when i search the song and play it from the artist page it will play the correct (korean) version. One of the songs that have this issue is “As if it's your last” by “Blackpink”. There were way more songs with this issue, but after i updated the app some songs started playing the correct version again. Before updating the app songs like “Boombayah” by “Blackpink” and “Batter up” by “Babymonster” were also playing in janpanese instead of korean, but “as if it's you last” and some other songs are still bugged in the latest version.

It's a little weird because if actually add both the korean and japanese version of the songs in my favourite tracks, it will both play in japanese. The only way for me to play the original (korean) version is by searching for the song and playing it from the artist page.

I asked a friend to reproduce the bug on her phone, so different phone and different account. She also has this bug but for her it's the other way around. “As if its your last” plays the correct (korean) version in her favourite tracks, but when she plays the song by using the search function it wil actually play in japanese.

EDIT: This only happens for me in the mobile version. The web version is working perfectly fine for me

OK, then I suggest we wait until things settle down first.

And if there is still an issue, I’ll check with the team in charge of the catalog.

Pretty good investigation work :)

The issues you’re pointing at are linked to multiple deliveries of an album by an artist indeed and what we call fallbacks (transparently falling back on the right track).

The easiest way to fix it on your side would be to unfavorite/re-favorite the tracks that you have issues with and you should be good to go.

We’ll still work on the lyrics button issue to properly handle it in that specific case but I can’t give you any timeline.

I was wondering if you guys could give me a little update on this issue. I feel like it's started getting worse since a few days, and now even songs released as singles don't show the lyrics button but when I click on "go to album" it does show. The weird thing is, with those singles it does show that it's added in my favourite, but as we previously saw, when it comes to albums having multiple version it wouldn't even show that the songs were added to the playlist from the album page.

Edit: btw some singles that have this issue won't even show lyrics at all. If I click on "go to album" and open the lyrics from there I get a blank screen

Its been 2 months now since my last reply..

For me the lyrics on a song is very important when listening to music. And i really hate to say it, but if this doesn't get fixed I am going to switch to a different app. I've been using this app for over 11 years now, and I love everything about this app, but this lyric bug has been going on for way too long now, and it kinda feels like I'm waiting on something that won't get fixed anytime soon.

I really hope someone can give me a little update on all the lyrics that has been disappearing, it's still happening, every day I see lyrics disappear on multiple songs. If y'all can tell me if its going to get fixed in the future I will stay with Deezer, otherwise I'm probably going to switch to a more stable streamingplatform.

The thing is, if it was a legal issue, the lyrics wouldn't be available at all right? For this issue the lyrics seems to be available, but it's just not showing. For a lot of songs the lyrics shows sometimes (like 1% chance) but most of the time it won't. Sometimes when I update the app some lyrics comes available again, but then it disappears for other songs.

For a lot of songs where the lyrics button disappeared, there is this weird way to get them back, because sometimes when I click on the "launch track mix" button at the bottom of the player the lyrics button magically appears. This seems to work for a lot of songs, but not all the time.
