I can't play a song all the way through without it stopping.
Hello there
People here are happy to try to help you, but more information is needed.
You said the music stops, but there is no context, no details about your equipment, or any mention of what (if any) troubleshooting steps you have taken so far.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I thought I needed to update the app so I reinstalled it. That's when the trouble started. I had to reformat my sd card and download the music all over again. I use a Samsung Galaxy s8 phone and never had a problem before.
Now when I try to play my downloaded music, I don't get through a song without it stopping. If I press the play button on my ATH-M5OxBT headphones, the song continues. It continues without pressing that button too.
I used the same phone and headphones today with files downloaded to the same sd card, played with the same headphones but using VLC. Everything was fine. No interruptions.
I tried turning off the mono setting (one ear isn't up to par) and turning it back on but that didn't solve the problem.
Thanks again for responding.

I’ve unmounted the card, reduced and increased the size of the cache, eliminated the cash, uninstalled and reinstalled the app
Now all the downloaded files are gone, although the app shows it being stored on the sd card and the amount of space agrees with my phone.
I’ve unmounted the sd card again but the same problem exists. I can’t access my downloaded music. That’s a new problem on top of the stopping problem.
One weird thing about the stopping problem. It disappeared when the screen was on. I can’t figure that out. Does the phone go to sleep when the screen is off?
Hello
Following from the responses above, it appears that a recent update (OS/Deezer) might have changed some battery optimization settings.
- Go to Settings > Apps > Special Access > Optimize Battery Usage > Select “All” from the Dropdown Filter
- Look for Deezer, Turn Optimization Off - this should allow Deezer to run optimally even when the screen is off. If done correctly, Deezer should appear on the list “Apps not optimized”
Please also make sure that you do not have “Power Saving” Turned ON.
If the issue persists, check if your SD card could have some bad sectors, causing the app to operate normally.
If that’s again not the case, you can respond back here.

I don’t think that’s it. I think the problem had to do with permissions to access the card. After reinstalling, I tried to re-select where I keep my downloads. Well, they all were gone (but they were inaccessible anyway) so I started to download music. So far, neither of the problems has recurred. But I’ll copy your advice to check out if the problem comes back. Thanks.
