frequent audio hiccups and glitches while streaming

Hello

Since a few months I have been enduring more and more audio hiccups while streaming non downloaded tracks on my phone.

Sometimes, even multiple times per song.

It's not on every song. It can also be on popular songs which I heard before and should be in my cache.

I am listening high-end audio and prefer lossless. I have tried switching quality a few times and the problem persists.

I first thought it could be a few glitches while downloading server content while buffering content (http fail maybe?) which can be internet related but it is getting worse lately.

My output device is Bluetooth ( ears or car ) but I think the type of hiccups is not Bluetooth related as I seem to experience them also without Bluetooth.

A listening session of 1 hour had at least 10 glitches yesterday (Saturday evening).

They completely mess up the song and vibes.

I have a OnePlus 10t with android 13 fully updated.

Provider: 4g/5g Proximus/Belgium with nearly unlimited data. Mostly connected on 4g or my own WiFi.

I am not in a rural environment with bad reception.

You may also seem to lack the possibility to easily report glitches on (!) downloaded tracks ! That should not occur, no?

Is there any way I can help to detect / test or solve this problem? Beta version? Collect log files?

It is very hard to keep track of it manually when this occurs.

Thanks for letting me know what to do. I hope this gets resolved soon because i love you guys more than Spotify.

Grtz

F

Not that this will help you, but when I go for walks and listen to my Deezer playlists via bluetooth I as well get the occasional stutter, or glitch, which I attribute to bluetooth. This does not happen when I listen at home via Airplay which as well will give a noticeably better audio experience than bluetooth. As well never happened when I listened with my iPhone or Bluesound Node tethered via wire where as well the audio was far superior to a bluetooth connection.

Thanks for your help @BigFKahuna.

In this case, the user @Bl4ckthor is having issues on an Android device. In fact when using Bluetooth connections, here and there we have a user with similar glitches when listen online music.

Less common when you listen offline content.

When the sound output is your phone, you shouldn’t have any glitches.

This could be related the stability of the Bluetooth connection or optimization of battery on Android devices with OS 13.

I would start by unpair the device (earphones or car), clean cache of the Deezer app, under Data and Storage and for the smart cache, push the cursor to 0Mb and afterwards leave it between 2Gb and 5Gb.

If you still face the same glitches, check this step to optimize battery for Deezer (make sure you don’t use your phone on Battery saving mode):

  • Open your phone settings > Applications > Deezer
  • Select Battery (you may need to tap on Advanced Settings to find it) > Unrestricted
  • Open Deezer, then test a playlist

Finally, you can also try to run a test using a different Android device, preferable one with Android OS 8 to 12 version.

Hope this improves the experience.

Interestingly I notice lately a lot of pauses and drop outs while streaming my music. I don’t know if I can attribute this to my WiFi which usually measures “very fast”. Airplay from iPhone 13 with latest iOS to KEF LS60’s and updated Deezer app. Frustrating when people are over and ask why the music keeps stopping. And of course when I have tech support from my provider check out the issues, there are none...

I'm new here and new to Deezer. I love the music discovery, it's the best in the business immhon! I nixed Spotify as they are still lossy Deezer has cd quality That's great. I also use Qobuz and love the HiRes big time.

My problem is that I'm listening to Deezer and I'm noticing the highs are piercing, and don't doing clean. What's going on? Deezer is constantly going off lossless Hifidelty, and going to lossy 320 when switching tracks? How is that?

Using Qobuz  I have zero problems with HiRes. As a matter of fact, I listen in HiRes while downloading HiRes with zero problems. EVER

This is not good for Deezer especially now raising prices to the highest streamer (Qobuz is 3 dollars more for hi tes however). I'm more hurt than angry. I thought I had a winner with music discovery. I guess I can download everything, but this is not worth it.

I use LG V60

5G Ultra Wideband

Android 13

Note I do have a couple of v20s that are on android 8 (as someone suggested) , but I have 1 sim and I don't want to use these v20s as a go to. So slow.

I have no wifi, and don't need one. I check speeds with Deezer problems and they are extremely fast

Amy suggestions?

Thank you

Tony

Hi @Tuneman, sorry for the delayed response.

A warm welcome to the Deezer family!😀

Could you please confirm whether the issue you described is still persisting.
