Equalizer auto turn off when I switch to another song
Hello.
I would like to repopen a discussion (firstly opened by SoloWingX) :
Each time I switch to the next song, the equalizer instantly turn off. I have to open it (shortcut un the down left corner > equalizer) and it instantly turn on.
Strange thing is that the issue only appears when I manually switch tot he next song, no problem when the app switch to the next song by itself (when the previous one is finished).
Thanks !

Hey @TitouanNlt!
Can you show me screenshots or a video of how the equalizer resets when you change the track please? And also tell me the Android version installed in and the Deezer app version?
Then I can investigate it.

Hi, I'm having the same issue. I've seen you ask that question before.
Please explain to me how we screenshot audio. (Rhetorical question)
I'm on a Nokia G20 and same thing Equalizer is set but from time to time the Equalizer does not kick in on a song, it's just unequalized music, until you click settings up the top, audio in the middle, audio output which brings up
And then as soon as you click Equalizer it starts the Equalizer and the sound changes as the Equalizer settings page comes up where it is already set to how it was before it turned itself off.
If I just let whatever is on the playlist play it stays on. If I click next or choose another song from any playliat it turns off again until I go through the options again. Literally just happened again between me posting screenshot 1 and me clicking next to test it again.
Its not resetting settings it's just flat out turning itself off if you do anything outside of letting it just play the next listed song, although the on off slider remains on
Happens on all of my headsets both wired and Bluetooth.
Literally exactly as op posted and the other closed thread with no solution on it explains.
Android 12
Deezer 7.0.25.49
Clearing app data doesn't fix it.

Issue not fixed with latest update
Hello,
The same thing is happening to me. I like a little more bass, and when it switches to the next song the equalizer turns off and then my ears hurt.
Hello @Tulala yes unfortunately this issue has not been fixed yet but our teams are aware of it!
Another update - Two days ago Equalizer crashed entirely in the middle of a song. It is now completely greyed out entirely and doesn't work at all even after clearing data and cache and uninstalling and reinstalling Deezer. Nothing else on the phone has updated and I'm on the latest Deezer version from last week.
To reiterate - Equalizer now entirely dead as of two days ago, can be selected in menu, is completely greyed out and unavailable at all. Persists through phone restarts and app cache clearing and uninstall reinstall.
Music now unbearably loud and tinny. If not resolved might have to cancel subscription and move on after a good 3 years or so.
Another update, Equalizer still completely broken.
Check audio player settings: If you are using a specific audio player software, check its settings for any options related to the equalizer. Make sure that the equalizer settings are set to stay enabled or active when switching between songs. Look for any options like "Keep EQ on" or "Apply EQ to all tracks." Device audio settings: If you are using a mobile device or computer, check the audio settings in the device's system preferences. Look for any options related to audio effects, equalizer, or enhancements. Ensure that any settings related to the equalizer are enabled or set to remain active during play.. Update audio drivers: Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can sometimes cause issues with equalizer settings. Make sure that your audio drivers are up to date. Visit the manufacturer's website for your device or sound card to download and install the latest drivers.
Thank you @Chris Harry!
Let me know @No Info if after checking everything Chris suggested you still have the issue and I will ping again our developpers :)
Hello,
The same problem and more are happening to me.
The current version of Deezer application is unable to function/use the Equalizer and Sound Effects features of my Samsung Note 4 phone with Android 6.0.1. However, the Spotify application on my phone functions/uses very well and without any problem the Equalizer and Sound Effects features of the phone. I found a temporary but exhausting solution for this: I first open the Equalizer features of the phone by the Spotify, then the Deezer begins to be able to use the Equalizer function of the phone for a while, but just for 1 or 2 songs, then the Deezer turns off again the Equalizer, so that I have to repeat my temporary solution, which is very unsatisfying.
If the problem is not fixed soon, and I unfortunately see that it is still not fixed during many past months and months, I will probably change from the Deezer to the Spotify.

I know that many people with other Android phone brands and with newer Android versions also suffer the same problem for many years, since at least 2019 when this problem is opened as a topic in the Deezer Community. It is interesting and unacceptable that the Deezer is not still able to fix this problem for many past years. For that reason, I decided and needed to open a new actual topic for this very essential problem of the Deezer.

Hello @Tufan T. A. unfortunately our teams are already aware of this but the fix as not been released yet.
Hello,
I would like also to report here another kind of problem of the Deezer application about its inability to function/use the Equalizer function of the phone.
As I mentioned above, I had found a temporary but exhausting solution to activate the Equalizer function of the phone in Deezer: that is, I first open the Equalizer function of the phone using the Spotify application on my phone, which works well and without any problem in regard to the Equalizer function, then the Deezer also begins to function/use the Equalizer function of the phone, but for a while, that is for just 1 or 2 songs, then the Equalizer function turns off again in the Deezer.
But, sometimes the process works differently, I don't why: that is, after I am able to open the Equalizer function in the Deezer through the Spotify, as I described above, the Equalizer function remains to function in the Deezer, but, in this case, I am unable neither to turn off the Equalizer nor to make some sound adjustments on the Equalizer: That is, the Equalizer remains functioning, but it is unresponsive to both turning off and making adjustments. This happens sometimes and stochastically, and I don't know why the Deezer behaves in regards to the Equalizer function sometimes in a way and sometimes in other way, as I described above.
In conclusion, the Deezer's use of the Equalizer function of the phone is malfunctioning, and behaves stochastically and unpredictably ranging from totally not working to working but uncontrollable.
Hi @Tufan T. A.thank you so much for your feedback, it’s very much appreciated. I already passed your feedback to our technical team.
Hi,
I experience same problem on my Pixel 4 running Android 13. No matter if I connect by Bluetooth to my car’s audio or earbuds.
Hi @Maciej Wujciów thanks for sharing your experience.
Indeed like I just mentioned before, our developers are try to sort this out. It as been a topic internally and we are trying to push up to get sorted.
Apologies for the inconvenience that this is causing you.
Dear Friends at Deezer,
The problem that the Deezer doesn't function properly and even doesn't function at all the Equalizer of the android phones still continues. Indeed, this problem is first mentioned in the community nearly 4 years ago. And the problem still couln't be fixed yet permanently and thouroughly. The Deezer responds always same: "we are sorry, we are aware of the problem, our developpers work on it, one difficulty is that there are many types of android phones, we are taking services from third parties and then we are bounded to them, etc etc". The result?!: A basic music component problem and even a simple one isn't still resolved since 4 years!
Deezer is unable to function the Equalizer of the phone, but Spotify does, Tidal does, YT Music does, the others do. What a kind of problem is this that is too difficult to fix it?! Since 4 years! I suggest to Deezer to change both its relevant underqualified developpers and its relevant underqualified third parties, and also to get the developpers of the Spotify or Tidal or YT Music and to begin to work with their third parties. If not, my yearly subscription will end after 2 weeks, I will change from Deezer to Spotify or Tidal or YT Music or another one.
