So for a while now I've been have a problem with deezer and the offline mode

They advertise that you can download and listen to your music offline provided that you're a paid subscriber. So my question is why cant i listen to my downloaded music offline even my favorite list shows me an error when im in offline mode and I'm a paid subscriber can someone please give me an answer

Because at this point I feel like deezer is a rip off coz you pay every month download your music with your data then still have to use your data to stream music even after it's been downloaded which is not okay its like paying a double subscription or even more

Hey @dc99001, when it does that, just force close the app and re open it.

It will play your downloaded music again!

I have the same issue ...any solutions?

Take a look here…

Same issue here for about 1 year. I download sometimes the most recent app but I have never seen a fix. Switching to spotify to pay for a working service at least.

If you're having trouble downloading music in offline mode, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check your internet connection: Make sure that your device is connected to a stable internet connection, as downloading music requires an active internet connection.

  2. Check your subscription status: Ensure that your subscription is active and that you have the necessary permissions to download music for offline listening.

  3. Clear cache and data: Clearing the cache and data of the music streaming app you're using can help resolve issues related to downloads.

  4. Update the app: Make sure that you have the latest version

If you're having trouble downloading music to play in offline mode, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check your internet connection: Make sure you have a stable internet connection, as downloading music requires a good internet connection. If you're experiencing slow or unstable internet, try restarting your router or connecting to a different network.

  2. Check your subscription: Ensure that you have an active subscription that allows you to download music for offline playback. Some music streaming services require a premium subscription to download music.

  3. Clear cache and data: Clear the cache and data of your music streaming app. This will help to remove any corrupt files that might be interfering with the download process. Go to your device's settings, select Apps, find your music app, and then clear cache and data.

  4. Update your app: Check if there is an available update for your music streaming app, as updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements.

  5. Reinstall the app: If none of the above solutions work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This can help to fix any underlying issues that might be causing the download problem.

  6. Ensure that your PDf Slug subscription is active and that you have the necessary permissions to download music for offline listening.

If none of these solutions work, you can reach out to the support team of your music streaming service for further assistance.

Hi there

Is this still not fixed?

If so what is the point of offline mode?

Hello @Daniel Craddock the issue has been fixed, you should not still experience it.

Can you send us a screenshot of what you see?

Hi i have the same issue i tried everything and still dosent work on any downloaded music when offline mode playing on deezer version 7.0.30.59 SM-A205GN Android ver.10 any solutions?

Hello @Andre Claude Dizon please reinstall the app and re download your music.

Let us know if the problem still occurs!

I have been experiencing the same problem this whole summer.

Even when I do manage to get my downloads list to load, it keeps on playing the same 30-40 songs even though I have 700+ downloaded. Imagine being in roaming and listening to the same 40 songs for three weeks while you ride a bike / drive a car!

Not to mention that Flow keeps on playing the same stuff all the time as well.

I am going to follow a portion of the last response on the thread and uninstall the app. However, instead of reinstalling, I’m switching to Spotify.

Hello Deezer team, I just switched from Spotify to Deezer with a family plan and my wife just noticed this issue. I'm pretty shocked this is an issue from 2 years ago and you guys haven't been able to fix it!

She already wants to switch back to spotify, please tell me you already have a solution for this.

Thanks.

Earlier today I downloaded the latest Android Deezer v8.0.1.32 onto my Sony Walkman NW-306A (Android 12). Works like a charm in online mode. I downloaded 128 albums (external micro SD card storage) and in offline mode the first 10 albums I downloaded play fine, but the remaining 118 albums refuse to play and a message appears saying  "Offline mode activated. Return to connected mode?" when I try playing them.

Turns out Deezer is extremely slow downloading things, even on a super speedy connection it took a while for those first 10 albums to download.

So, top tip from me - make sure all songs have downloaded before going offline. A green circle next to an album in the downloads section does NOT mean an album has finished  downloading - rhe album has only finished downloading when each song in the album has a green circle next to it.

No green circle next to a song means the song has not downloaded yet and can't be played offline.

Hi @Refrenz, thank you for sharing your experience with us.

In fact, to download all the songs from the album, each individual track should have a green circle next to it.

The album will be fully downloaded only when all the songs display the green circle.

Thank you once more for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It is really appreciated.

I’m on version 8.0.6.65 and this is still an issue, this has been going on for years! C’mon Deezer sort it out. If I clear the cache it deletes everything and if I do that I’m closing the family account and going to Spotify. I have about 50 albums downloaded, a selection of playlists, a favourite playlist which is ONLY downloaded songs and I repeatedly get offline error messages or get 1 or 2 songs load and then it stops until I go online.

Yesterday I went online, I loaded EVERY album and playlist I have and played the first 1-2 seconds and skipped on so that the track registered. Went offline….NOTHING just an error saying I can only play previously downloaded content whilst offline. I’m paying £17.99 a month for nothing because it never works properly.

It isn’t just my phone either, it’s on other devices on a different account (part of the same family account) so it is clearly a Deezer issue.

I’ve previously cleared cache, then spent hours downloading everything again only for the problem to re-occur so please come up with a different solution to “clear the cache” try fixing your shoddy product.

Hopefully gets fixed. Experienced the same issue before.

@Martin.Thompson I am sorry to hear that…
Could you please share a screenshot with the error message that you mentioned in order to investigate?
Thanks

Its very quick, it says something along the lines of "you can only play previously listened to playlists in offline mode"

Then it will load one or two songs and nothing else, it used to load hundreds at a time, now it doesnt and it just stops playing music unless i disable offline mode.

This shows how many songs it loads up and below is a sample of the many playlists and albums I have had fully downloaded for ages.

Hello @Martin.Thompson sorry to hear that, and thanks for the screenshots.

Even that you experience the issue on your phone and you tested in a different device, I can’t reproduce the same issue on my side.

My Android 10 is running the latest version beta of Deezer 8.0.9.16 and when I put myself offline, my favourite tracks that I have download before, play without interruption.

But indeed we have other users here and there that have the same struggling, so it could be related to combination of the OS system with other settings/apps/….

Please give it a go with our latest version, try to download just one of your playlist or albums or favourite tracks, put yourself in offline mode and see how it goes.

If you still get issues, please try to record a video of the step by step you do and add:

  • Actual OS version of the device
  • Deezer version installed
  • Screenshot of Data and Storage info from the Deezer app, under settings
