After latest Android update Deezer stopped working with a rotating cicrle on the track to be played. Only way to get it to work is to uninstall and reinstall. then it works until you stop using it, then when you try to play something later it will not work. Anyone else having this problem. Phone is Samsung A10.

Hey there @nhamilt98

please make sure you are following the steps below:

  1. Restart the app (kill the app and remove it from the notification bar)
  2. Try another network (4G or Wifi)
  3. Restart your phone
  4. Delete all the cache & data from the app (Data and storage, and then “Clear all”), then restart the app
  5. Un-install the app and re-install the app

I followed the instructionsabove. However in Step 4 after doing the clear all the app wouldnt restart. I tried this twice and wouldnt work. I went on to step 5 but after loading Deezer again the same fault is still there.

I have been having the same problem (same phone) and following the 5 steps listed does work but I have to do that every time I use the app. Which is getting quite frustrating.

Me too. To have to go through the 5 steps every time I get in my car is ridiculous.

Does anyone know how to sort this?

Please note, the 5 stage process does the same as uninstalling deezer then reinstalling it. ie stage 5 of the process . the system then works till you stop using it then it will not play anything until you uninstall and reinstall again.

Do Deezer ever get involved in making the system, that we pay them for, to get it to work

Does anyone know how to sort this?

Only thing I can think of at the moment is to use a different music streaming service. I think I've given deezer long enough to patch this issue.

Update:I have cancelled my deezer subscription. I tried Spotify and that is having similar issues. TIDAL is currently working on my A10.

Hi, after updating to android 14, deezer doesnt resume after calls eventhough the its turned on in the app setting.

@BlackieChan Could you please check the phone settings and see if Deezer is allowed to work on the Background?
Thanks :)

Yes its allowed. the issue i am facing with the app is majorly resuming after a call, it takes about a minute or two before it resumes on its own instead of immediately after the call.

Exactly the same thing on my Android PX5 (8GB, 8 cores) car radio. Android 10, connected to the internet, all apps are obviously up to date, I’m in a covered area (full speed 4G); no other app launched. Obviously it’s allowed to work on the background. And since it’s an Android car radio, there isn’t anything to lock the apps, all is permanently open.

I try to start it, frontend is not responsive (but you can pull it down to force refresh it - then it reloads, to remain unresponsive).

If I close the app and start it again, it does the same thing.

Deezer preferences are working like a charm though: I went to see if there was more than three android devices using my Deezer account (it happened once, and Deezer would silently abort playing) but that wasn’t the problem.

I have to go to the Android app preferences and clear all the data. Then SOMETIMES it agrees to run again. Although it makes a few weeks now that I’m forced to uninstall the Deezer app completely, then reinstall it.. It then works. Until it crashes.

Last summer it would keep running for days in a row without any problem on the same PX5. I have similar issues on an Android 11 Hizpo ZQ8003 android enabled car radio, although it didn’t yet get to the reinstalling step.

I may have to cancel my subscription soon.

Hi @Nowee sorry to hear that you have the crash issue on your car media centre.

Do you experience any issue when you stream from you mobile phone?

Any to do a full reset factory to the Android PX5 media centre?

If issues still persists, could you try to record a video showing us step-by-step what you do, until you get the crash.
