Hi All

When the Android Automotive Deezer first came along it had a HiFi option in setting, but this was removed about 12months ago. Why? And is there any plans for it to return?

Hi @Mike229 ! Right now, the HiFi option isn’t available on Android Automotive Deezer, but the good news is it’ll be back in a future.

Thanks for your patience.

Hey there @RicRD2

Leonidia is no longer here, and the most recent update is the one she posted two months ago. Thankfully, the current AAOS sound quality is excellent (I’m also a user). One of us will post if there is any news.

Is there any update on this?

hello there @Ömür

per Deezer staff, there is no update. from a personal perspective, I tried using two of the services that offered hi-fi with their AAOS, and it was nothing but buffering and other glitches. I feel like Deezer is on to something staying away from that.

enjoy your music.

Alright. I don’t think it is reasonable to justify a missing feature by assuming potential bad UX. It would be nice to have option to turn it on/off depending on the performance, right?

For example, for me one of the reasons to try Deezer was the HiFi where the other competitor platforms fail to deliver in my region. Cutting that feature completely for my car impacts my decision to use Deezer compared to a competitor.

Alright. I don’t think it is reasonable to justify a missing feature by assuming potential bad UX.

It’s entirely possible that it’s not an assumption, but something that was tested extensively and determined to be a product that didn’t meet deezer’s high standards. Spotify took what, 8 years to release lossless, and it’s still considered lesser quality by many in the industry.

At any rate, I hope you find the many other positives about Deezer to be compelling enough that you stay with the service. If not, thanks for giving it a try and best wishes for wherever you end up.
