Hello,

When I start a playlist in Android auto, the order changes to 'standard'.

If I start the playlist on my phone the order is 'last added'.

Is there a way so the order stays at 'last added' when I start the list from Android auto?

The same happens with Android Wear.
Hi there @Kevin.Duarte.Costa

Could you try the following steps, exactly in this order, to see if it helps with your issue?

  • make sure you're connected to a wifi network
  • uninstall Deezer
  • clean your phone's cache
  • remove the SD card
  • turn off your phone
  • reinstall Deezer
  • open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist
  • reinsert the SD card

Hello Rudi

Sorry for the late reply.

I finally had time to do this on two phones and both still have the same issue.
Hi there again @Kevin.Duarte.Costa

I've checked with our devs and there's a suggestion. Have you tried connecting your mobile to the car before opening the Deezer app? Let me know what happens!
Hello Rudi,

Yes I tried that.

The same thing happens in the Android auto app by itself, without a connected car, by the way.
Hi there @Kevin.Duarte.Costa

Have you got the car's firmware and our app up-to-date?
Android Auto and Deezer are on the newest version, the car itself, too.
Hi there @Kevin.Duarte.Costa

Could you try posting a screenshot? Have you tried connecting the phone with a cable to see if it makes a difference?
Hi again!

So in the screenshots you can see my playlist in the orders "zuletzt hinzugefügt" (last added) and "standard".

I want it to play in the last added order, so the first song should be "thank you".

But when I start the playlist from Android auto it starts the song sweet little lies first (standard order).

Is there no solution?
Hi @Kevin.Duarte.Costa sorry for the late reply. We do not seem to have an update on this. I will ping the developers again, can you just tell me which version of the app you have installed at the moment?
Bumping in this thread. Having this exact same issue on android. Using Deezer version 6.1.1.55 which is the latest at the moment.

Playing music through deezer directly, my playlist track sorting stays on 'recently added' but playing through AA, it switches to 'default' track sorting.
Hey there @Ravi Jokhun

Could I interest you to try our Beta app to see how it performs with AA? To join the Beta program, please see here.

I'm having exactly the same issue! I don't want to switch back to Spotify but it's annoying that my Liked Songs playlist is always in the "Default" sort when playing from Android Auto. I'm starting to hate the first song in that playlist order now since I hear it every time I start driving!

Hi there @InordinateDuck

Sorry for the inconvenience. Could you please update your app to the latest version and let me know if that helps? :relaxed:

It’s been over three years, and this still hasn’t been fixed! It can’t be that hard to use the app-settings for playlist-order. Please get the attention of the devs, Deezer is unusable with Android Auto.

@Flo.Deezer @Rudi

Having this issue too… I always listen to my favorites playlist starting from last added.  Currently it starts from the beginning (first added) of the playlist instead.  I have it set on my phone to play from the end (most recent added).  If I start the playlist manually from my phone, it ignores the phone setting and continues with the “default” order which I never use.  Makes listening to my favorites kind of a game stopper via Android Auto.

Pleeeeeease use the sort order set on the phone, not the default (unless that’s what has been selected).

swapping to Spotify. Cant be bothered to wit any longer for the fix.

Hey Deezer, we are still waiting and we are really disappointed with usability of deezer in android auto:

1. Playing the songs not from the oldest but from the latest in the playlist is most probably a very simple fix by your developers. Maybe just a couple lines of code by one dev. Can we get that?

2. Allowing us to choose the songs from the playlist is another really desired feature and also shouldn't be to difficult. Maybe just calling that one function will help with that https://developer.android.com/reference/android/support/v4/media/session/MediaSessionCompat#setQueue(java.util.List%3Candroid.support.v4.media.session.MediaSessionCompat.QueueItem%3E)

People are still using Android Auto and waiting for those improvements. It is really not much effort. I'm an android developer and can help with that even for free, just to have does features in the app.

Just bought a new car. Android Auto for the first time. Having the same problem. One button that flips order from standard to latest in the playlist/favourites should be easy to add. This thread is five years old...

Hello @TB89, thanks for sharing your feedbacks on Android Auto experience.

After reaching out our product team, it was mentioned that there are plans to bring some improvements in the next quarters.

No much was disclosed, but the first priority aims to solve some resilient issues and improve the app stability.

After that, we will work in the search feature, queues and finally the sorting feature in playlist view.

So fingers cross that all that can be implement during this year.
