Android app no playback at all

Pixel 8 Pro, Deezer app playback is completely broken. I click play on a song, nothing happens/no audio, then after a brief pause the track advances with playback paused. Try again and same result. No errors displayed.

 

Already I have followed advice to clear data, adjust size of smart cache, sign out/in, restart phone, delete app and reinstall, nothing has worked. 

 

Any similar experiences or other possible fixes?

 

Android ver 16 Feb 5 2026 security update (installed update this morning, Deezer app was working fine yesterday, this could be the trigger).

App ver 9.0.6.3 (also was updated while trying to troubleshoot, no improvement)

Somehow caused by Bluetooth headphones, next troubleshooting step was play from phone speakers, and that worked. Seems like an android issue (or my headphones issue) not a Deezer issue, as the behavior occurred with other apps. Hopefully this could still help someone else experiencing the same problem.
