add to queue not functioning correctly

This sounds like the expected behaviour with the new Queue design.

When a user selects “Add to Queue” and you add a track to your queue, Deezer places it before the rest of your current playlist, album or mix continues. This means the track you add will play soon, instead of being added to the very end of the full list.

For example:
If a user is listening to an album and selects “Add to Queue” on another track:

1. The current track finishes.
2. The newly added track plays.
3. Deezer then continues with the remaining tracks from the album.

So, the track is not added to the very end of the entire queue.

No. No it doesn't help at all. Why on Earth would you change that feature when "play next" has done precisely that exact same function just fine?

I just want to queue another album to play when the current album I'm listening to finishes. 

Seriously though, ​@Alfredo.Deezer can you explain to me the difference between "play next" and "add to queue" because as far as I can tell they are now identical.

If I wanted an entire album to play smack in the middle of an album I'm listening to, I would hit "play next"

But I don't. Because that would be weird.

I think there might be some confusion above, so let me clarify with a concrete example, since this is specifically about queuing entire albums/playlists, not single tracks.

Expected behavior (how it used to work):

Add to queue on an album/playlist: it should be appended to the end of the current queue, and start playing only after the album/playlist I'm currently listening to finishes.

Play next on an album/playlist: it should be inserted right after the current track, interrupting the album I'm listening to, and then resume the original album once the new one ends.

Current (broken) behavior: both buttons now behave like "Play next" — whichever one I tap, the new album/playlist gets inserted immediately after the current track, cutting into the album I'm listening to. There's no way anymore to simply queue something up to play after my current album finishes without interrupting it.

You've got it exactly right.

The clunky workaround I've found is simply to never ever again use the "play" button on an album page. If you "add to queue" the entire album first, then press play, it seems to behave the way it used to. Basically you have to force Deezer to recognize an entire album as the queue because otherwise it thinks it's a dozen plus completely unrelated songs.

I get the feeling nobody at Deezer involved in this change has ever listened to an entire album before or even once considered the listening behaviour of those of us who do.

I will click on a song in a playlist. It will play. I will add some songs to the queue through the ‘listen next’ feature to set up what I want to listen to. If I try to drag a song up or down at any point in the queue, when I put it where I want in the lineup, the whole order will shuffle. Sometimes if it is a song that I added from outside the playlist, it’s just gone and I’ll have to go search for it again. Sometimes, I’ll drag a song to be the next one to play in the queue, and when I release it, it will move above the song that’s currently playing and I can’t move it anywhere at all in the queue. 

Deezer has two features: "add to the queue" and "play next" – the first one used to add new songs at the end the current playlist; the second one adds new song right after the current one.

But now “add to queue” works the same as "play next". 

If I play an album and want to add another to the queue, but I am only at beginning of the record – it will add the second album right after the song I'm playing at the moment, not at the end of the queue. 

I find it very frustrating, because I used to use both of this features a lot and now they do basically the same?

I think the problem started when this "swipe to play next" feature was introduced (which is also a little bit frustrating – I think the app is to sensitive and sometimes make a 'swipe' when I'm only scrolling down)

This behaviour also presents itself in the desktop version 7.1.310.

This needs to be addressed for people that listen to albums, ASAP.
