I'm getting duplicate scrobbles right now which means that the internal Deezer scrobbling seems to be working at the moment, as I am using their web player with the browser extension. When I listen on the web I always get double scrobble on last.fm and it's kinda annoying. I just tried Deezer desktop app on my laptop and the scrobbling works! Finally!

Will try. Hope it'll work more than few hours.
Hello, Deezer staff, please respond.

Hi there,

I am new to Deezer. I’ve connected through the web browser to Last.fm.

Then I open the desktop app, listen to a song, but this doesn’t appear to the scribbled ones.

How can I solve?

It is currently working for me, so there is no general problem with it at the moment. The internal Deezer scrobbling does not show “Scrobbling now” in your Last.fm recent tracks list, so you will only see a successful scrobble a few seconds after the next track has already been started. Another known issue is for tracks containing a plus sign anywhere (artist, album or track name), so if you try to scrobble e.g. a song by Florence + the Machine, it will not work.

That’s so strange.
I have connected through the browser.

I see the connection under applications in Last.fm correctly

i am using the desktop app on my Mac Mini and it seems it doesn’t scroll songs properly

  • certain tracks not scrobbling at all or way too late (from a couple hours to more than 24 hours later) and then being scrobbled disorderly in the timeline
  • problems with the ampersand (&) symbol in artist, song and album names (i.e. the same being omitted most of the time - "Boy & Bear" becoming "Boy Bear")
  • certain tracks scrobbling up to 40 times when only listened once
Would be great to find a solution to this, as it is definitely not an isolated issue and seems to affect many users.
Anyways, some tracks started appearing in my last.fm profile today, but somehow I get the feeling that not all tracks are submitted in the right order. Hopefully this will happen in some kind of way :)

Even if this isn't related to the topic at all, what is it about the mp3 upload section?
Do I must own the rights of mp3 tracks or can I upload them even though I am not the owner / band of those files, because I have seen that there are some releases by a few bands that are missing and I don't want to get copyright problems.

I can confirm that some tracks have started appearing today. Hopefully, this is solved soon. I am also going though my phone, laptop and bandcamp libraries, while waiting for a fix.

As to the MP3s, you can upload them directly from your computer. Go to My Music --> Click the dropdown menu under your username (starts with Highlights, ends with More...) --> Choose My Mp3s

Hope this helps.
Not working again ....ndrrrr

An additional piece of info reported over at Last.fm forums regarding the same issue: scrobbling works from the Deezer web player, but ONLY when using the old skin, and with with the addition of the Web Scrobbler extension (for FF and Chromium-like browsers).
I have tried this both with Firefox and Chrome, using Deezer with the previous Flash player, but with no success - WebScrobbler is still not identifying the tracks. However, WebScrobbler has now implemented support for Deezer HTML5 and it should be included in the next release. That could come tomorrow, or in months from now, I have no idea about that.

I find this very frustrating too. Last.fm API has been the same for years and it should not be too complicated for Deezer to maintain its support. For me it's a key point to keep paying to Deezer.

Just to confirm what V_Shaft wrote: couple of weeks ago I noticed that scrobbling works only when the old skin is used. So, if you unlink the Last.fm account in Deezer settings and just use the scrobbling extension, then every song you listen to in your browser should be scrobbled to Last.fm

But in case you are a premium user and use Deezer on the smartphone as well - then we are back to the square one (I use iPhone and have not found a scrobbler that works for songs played in Deezer on iOS; and if I unlink the Last.fm account from my Deezer account - that means no scrobbling for me).

Hi,

I tried scrobbling and it says that my account is linked but I nothing is appearing on last fm. It says I have no songs. Did I miss a step? How can I scrobble?

Aha, got it: Flash vs. HTML5 player and old vs. new skin are two different things. Now I managed to deactivate the new skin and WebScrobbler indeed works again.

And yes, I too am using Deezer on multiple platforms so finding a patchy solution for one medium does not solve it all.

I'm with you as well, peeps @athenatria @Joinemm can't apologise enough for not having this working at the moment. Please keep an eye on this topic here for updates!

So instead of apologizing, why dont you just make up for it by getting it fixed already? you seriously need more than 2 months just to get it done? i have renewed my sub for deezer hifi twice already, still no fix. if on the third month and still no fix, im cancelling my sub.

Me as well. I use Deezer in Mac (as an app) and Android smartphone and scrobbling isn't working nowhere. Totally sucks.
My account is connected to Last.fm. It use to work well when I listened thought the web app (deezer.com). It's is not working in the new mac app (https://www.deezer.com/br/download?utm_source=web_link)

It might be possible that the official Last.fm Android app is still able to scrobble Deezer, but you have to enable that option in its settings. Unfortunately this does not work with the official iOS app from Last.fm, as far as I know.

This problem should be solved now, because Deezer Family members can have their own login and account settings now, so you should be able to see the Sharing preferences (that is the new tab name) where you can connect to your own Last.fm account.

As soon as I accept an invite to Deezer Family, Social Music settings disappear without a trace from my Sharing preferences tab. Turning off the AdBlocker doesn’t bring it back, either. Same with the desktop app.

However, if you link your Last.fm account to Deezer before you accept the invite, scrobbling continues to work. I think I should be able to see and manage my social media authentications whether or not my independent account is linked to a family or not.

What is your Last.fm username? Is the Last.fm logo in the Deezer Sharing Preferences in red or in grey? Are you a Deezer Family member perhaps?

My username is jilenendiaye . The logo is red, I am not a Deezer family member.

Could you check scrobbling from iOS while offline? The scrobbles are either delayed by a couple hours or do not show up at all. This has been going on for the last 3 or 4 days.
An additional piece of info reported over at Last.fm forums regarding the same issue: scrobbling works from the Deezer web player, but ONLY when using the old skin, and with with the addition of the Web Scrobbler extension (for FF and Chromium-like browsers).

If using this, perhaps it's best to unlink your Last.fm account from Deezer. At least I've done so.

I've just tried this, reverted back to the old layout, added Web scrobbler extension again to my Chrome, re-linked in Deezer options and after a notification about an error in the Web Scrobbler, linked again through the extension and now it finally works.

Thank you!

I’m having no luck getting the desktop app to scrobble.

I have lastfm account linked to deezer and its working but i ts scrobbles with around 2 weeks late between I listen a song and it appears on lastfm account.
Is there any solution to this ?

Hello everyone. When will the problem with scrobbling of different versions of tracks be fixed? When I listen to a live version of a track or a remix or an acoustic version of Last.fm scrobbling it as the original version. I saw that this topic was discussed here a year ago, but the problem has not been fixed. 😢 Can we expect a fix it soon? 🙄

As an FYI - today some scrobbles have started appearing. They are about 4 or 5 days late. This is unacceptable. 90% of the music I listen to is through Deezer. If there is no solution, I will have to look for other service providers, as I really like keeping tabs on what I listen to.

I noticed the same thing (yesterday I was using Deezer on my iPhone and instead of scrobbling the tracks I actually listened to yesterday, I noticed that bunch of "lost scrobbles" from couple of days ago were actually scrobbled).

So disappointing. 😞
