Prevent overruling other device

Is it possible to prevent overruling another device with just a premium account (only one device at a time)? It's annoying that Deezer automatically overrules the other playing device when using another device.

The only way to prevent this from happening is changing your Deezer Premium account to a Deezer Duo of Deezer Family account.

With a Deezer Premium account you won’t be able to play more devices at the same time.

I understand that it's not possible to play more devices at the same time with a premium account. That's not my inention. I find it strange that it is standard that another device can overrule the device that is playing music and stops that music with the message that another device is currently playing. In my opinion it should be standard that when trying to overrule a playing device a message should appears that it is not possible with maybe a notification such as: "Another device is currently using your account. Are you sure you want to continue. Music on the other device will be stopped."

I was wondering if that is possible. Cause I couldn't find it in the settings. It is annoying that my family members can overrule my music with another device when they don't know that I am using Deezer, for example when I'm travelling or running.

I know that Deezer Duo will fix this, but it is only sporadically that we want to use Deezer at the same time. So it does not outweigh the extra costs.

Hi @Jorisengreetje, thank you for sharing your feedback and concerns with us.

I understand your frustration with the current behavior regarding playback interruption on different devices.

While it's not currently possible to implement the specific feature you suggested within the Deezer app settings, I appreciate your suggestion for improving the user experience.

At the moment, when another device attempts to play music on your account while it's already in use, it will interrupt the playback on the current device. This is indeed a standard behavior across streaming platforms.

While Deezer Duo does offer simultaneous streaming on multiple devices, I understand that it may not always be the ideal solution for occasional simultaneous usage.

I will pass along your feedback to our development team for consideration in future updates.

In the meantime, please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.
