Podcast Player Update Ideas - Android

I know some of these may be out there, but they are over a year old, and impossible to tell if any progress is being made, and quite frankly, the workarounds have gotten annoying, and not what I'm paying for... so can we please get to fixing the issues?

1. Android does not have the ability to mark podcasts as played/unplayed. You gave this feature to iPhones 2+ years ago... What's the hold up?

 

2. Sorting/filtering podcast episodes is kind of a mess. I can filter out unheard, but I still have to scroll to the bottom of the list for the first unplayed episode. There is no logic to that... If I am filtering out unplayed episodes, it's because I want to hear the first unplayed episode, not the newest. Simple solution, allow me to apply two sorting features... Filter heard and sort from oldest.

 

3. Playback goes to the newest episode instead of the next chronological episode... This also seems to be devoid of logic. Yea, there is a workaround to sort the queue but I'm not paying a subscription for workarounds. You can play an album in track order, why not a podcast in chronological? I am often listening to podcasts while driving, and this is an absolute danger. I have started using an alternate app for podcasts, but I would really like to have my music and podcasts in the same app. Please fix this.

I there any update or resolution to this issue? 

For years now I have used Deezer for music but other apps for podcasts as it's just not possible when driving or working to play around with my phone to effectively 'skip back' each time an episode ends to play the next episode. Won't look good if someone crashes because their clunky podcast player lacks the most basic functionality.

Changing the episode order does nothing. Oldest to newest, newest to oldest, they both play newest to oldest regardless.

Why is there not a user setting for which order a customer wishes to listen to podcasts? Please can this be fixed as this app is more of a burden than it is useful. Spotify grows more appealing every day.

Hi @Samsquanch I would love to give you a different answer, but unfortunately there isn’t any update on this matter.

What I can add here, and it is not ideal, is one way to overcome the limitation mention by you that would be a manual reordering of the queue list.
