"New releases for you" has got worse

I am writing to complain about recent changes in the last couple of weeks (June 2024) in the “new releases for you” section of the app (both Desktop and mobile). This used to be quite a useful (though by no means perfect) way of seeing releases by artists I have previously listened to or other ‘similar’ artists. Very recently this has become terrible, whereby approximately 95% of the ‘recommendations’ are not artists I have listened too, and worse are not even remotely similar to artists or styles I do typically listen to. I have fairly eclectic taste but 90% of what I listen to is notionally within the rock / indie / folk genre, so to get recommendations for obscure “latin hip-hop” is not helpful. These erroneous recommendations mean that I can miss out on releases which would interest me. Has your programming / algorithm been updates in recent weeks to make this happen, or has my account been hacked perhaps (by someone with very different tastes to me)?! I have attached a screen grab form earlier today, highlighting which artists I have heard of / listened to before (ticked) and which i have never heard of (and mostly these look like things I would never chose to listen to), which I have marked with cross. If this is not resolved within in the next month I will seriously consider leaving Deezer premium.

Hi @bh1982 @awesomemac, sorry for the inconvenience caused by recent issues with the "New Releases For You" section.

It seems there was a bug in the algorithm during June, which led to some random and irrelevant recommendations. This issue was identified and fixed on June 22nd.

Since the fix, the algorithm should now be operating correctly and providing more accurate recommendations based on your listening history and preferences.

Please check again to see if the recommendations have improved and align more closely with the artists and genres you enjoy.

If you continue to experience any issues or have further concerns, please let me know.
