Deezer x Sonos

How are trying to use Sonos? Are you using the Sonos app or are you using Deezer with Airplay?

dies not work on Sonos app at all. This is a known issue to Sonos.

I am able to play on Sonos directly from the Spotify app which I am trying to figure out how to do with Deezer.

Does not seem to be possible.

When using the speaker button on the left I get the choice to send the music to a Sonos speaker or something else:

That’s really odd. Normally when using Airplay & Bluetooth you should see your Sonos speakers.

I don’t know if Deezer can help you or when. Isn’t a option to post a message in the Sonos Community?

Deezer as an added service is a known ussue to Sonos.

Never thought on asking about AirPlay. Will try that.

Still, a bit too much for what should be plug and play, no?

Oddly enough, Deezer is a more expansive service than Spotify (at least in Norway). Would expect a bit more.

Hello @Nusselt thanks for your first post here and welcome to Deezer.

Maybe I am wrong but your talking about the feature Spotify Connect that allows to connect Spotify with Sonos speaker?

Unfortunately Deezer Connect doesn’t allow same connection for now.

But like our amazing super user @awesomemac said you can use Deezer as service in the Sonos app. 

Indeed here and there an issue might occur, but thanks to an awesome partnership that we have with Sonos, normally they tend to fix things quite fast.

Also there is the option the Airplay which for me as for our super user, works fine. I can stream from the Deezer app through that method.

Last, for the casting option you were trying, I am not aware of which model of Sonos you have, but mine, Sonos One doesn’t not support Chromecast, so that is why I can’t find that device in the list of devices.

unfortunately air play does not work and I dont find a way to get it working. Nor with Deezer or Sonos.

the issue with deezer as added service with Sonos is just taking too long to get fixed.

was nice to give is a shot though. But the way it is i guess I gotta stick to the service that works.

He said he wrote the issue down to be issued in a future update.

not sure whether the issue is o Deezer, Sonos or Apple side. Fact is numerous posts of unresolved issues of Sonos va. Airplay.

i checked on the spotify app and in fact, the airplay feature behaves in similar way, except that with spotify and am able to play through sonos straight from the app.

playing through sonos is a must have feature for me, so i guess I will stick to spotify until this is resolved with Deezer

I have streamed to a number of different Sonos speakers, all on the same network, in the past week. I can say with certainty that it is possible to stream Deezer to a Sonos system. I have done this on Sonos systems at other locations in different countries (Canada, USA and Italy). I do not have Sonos as I stream to a KEF system. Maybe something in your settings?

i’ve re-discovered the old macos app to stream from deezer.

i miss spotify connect … but i don”t miss the smart commercial recommendation from Spotify.

hi @Leonídia.Deezer  thanks for the head-up.

i’m so surprised not to be able to stream directly from deezeer app since there is a clear difference between spotify and deezer in terms of sound and recommendation (and that why i’ve made the switch)

Unfortunately it’s quite hard to change a quite  old habit on how i use my sonos speaker (relying on the streaming apps rather thant Sonos that never was an option for me)

I hope you can sort this deezer connect stuff quicky enought so i can maintain my subscription.
