App (still) stops playing music after 5 secs when screen is locked

Deezer stops playing music after about 5 seconds, whenever my screen goes off (android). (I had opened the same topic a few months ago, but it was closed without a helpful solution.) 
When I turn my screen on after 5 sec, it’s like the app froze. The song doesn’t just pause then.
It's been like that for months now. I use the latest update and I've tried un- and reinstalling several times and checked several battery settings and tried everything I’ve found online so far.

I don't know what else I could try. Thankful for any help!

Hi @R1R13,

Please check and make sure of the following:

  • You’re not running a rooted phone.
  • You have the latest Android Updates Installed
  • You are using the stable version of Deezer and on the latest version installed from the Playstore.
  • Your phone is not too old, flash storage performance degrades with time and can cause issues such as apps hanging or crashing.
  • You’ve allocated enough smart cache for Deezer (Open Deezer, Settings > Data and Storage)
  • You have excluded Deezer from Battery Optimization and have allowed the app to run in the background.
  • You have not turned on any Power Saving Modes on your phone.
  • You reboot your phone.
  • You don’t have some kind of firewall or trackers blocker enabled on your phone/network.
  • You have an active subscription with Deezer.

Go through the troubleshooting steps above, if all fail write back with more details on how to reproduce your issue.

Did you make sure battery optimization is not enabled on Deezer ?
