We are discontinuing our service in Russia because we can no longer operate in this territory under the current legal conditions and economic sanctions.
Unfortunately as we run our service in a similar manner in Belarus, we have to stop operating there too.
You will still be able to enjoy Deezer benefits until the end of your current subscription period (already billed).
Until the end of your subscription, you will still be able to listen to Deezer ad-free, download music, all in high fidelity. However, your subscription will not be renewed when it comes to an end, and you will not be charged by Deezer anymore.
If you are on a monthly plan, your access to Deezer will end within a month.
We don't know yet when we will operate again in Russia and Belarus, but we will keep our users informed.

Deezer and other European companies can’t receive payments from most Russian banks since they’ve been removed from the SWIFT network.
Information about swift is not correct. Swift payments are blocked for 7 banks. The remaining 328 banks are not blocked. Spotify accepts payments, Deezer complains about swift instead of making money. Deezer, you just shot yourself in the knee.

Which is by the way a complete load of @#$t, because currently there are no specific sanctions prohibiting EU company to stream to Russian users or accept payment from users in Russia. When Deezer made a voluntary decision to stop servicing a country for political reasons, at least have courage not to pretend it’s due to “sanctions”.
I don’t think you understand the nature of the sanctions. Under the current sanctions Deezer and other European companies can’t receive payments from most Russian banks since they’ve been removed from the SWIFT network. Even though they have your credit card number they won’t get paid by your bank since there’s no longer a transfer mechanism in place for this to happen.
Sorry but I don’t think you understand how SWIFT works. It is not even used when a payment goes via card acquiring system, like Visa or Mastercard. Shutting a bank out of SWIFT in no way hinders Visa/Mastercard payment.

You don't understand us. You are talking about money, and we are talking about relationships. Sooner or later this situation will be resolved, and you have a chance to "save face" by staying out of the events or to close the door forever by supporting the hysteria

I suggest clicking on the link above to connect with Support directly to let them know that you've moved and ask them to update your country or residence. Instead of sending updated payment information I'd ask them first if they need it.

This is embarrassing... People are not guilty what is happening...
Similarly with any other foreign services or goods, the (few) people who are actively supporting Russian invasion into Ukraine are barely ever costumers of them. The paradox is that the most people who do use of such services are against the war, but these are the ones getting hit by sanctions. Sad, but it’s not for Deezer to decide though.

Spotify, by comparison, has exactly the same payment problems as everyone else these days - but doesn't completely exit the market and close access to free accounts. Time to observe and draw conclusions - which of the services really takes steps towards its audience, without dividing people into good and bad, and who turns on the artificial intelligence mode, without any hint of empathy

Hi,
Is it possible to move my account to another country? At the moment I’m staying in the UK and I have an UK card to pay for the subscription. Can’t find any info.
I guess I can create a new account, but I’d prefer to keep all my favorites and playlists.
Another related question- you lock the Russian accounts, but 3-6 months later the service is restored - will all my old favs/playlists stay with old account?

As far as I know, Spotify now disabled subscribing to or extending a Premium tier for Russian users as well, and they did not offer a free ad-supported tier before anyhow, also closed their Russian office a few days ago. Existing Premium accounts still have access until it runs out, similar to Deezer. If this info is wrong, please correct me.

They really closed the office for a while, but left free accounts after the premium subscription expired. And they confirmed in a press release that they were not going to leave the market

Евросоюз так решил. Компаниям, которые не подчинились решению, грозят вторичными санкциями, так что Deezer был обязан. Я тоже не фанат таких решений в отношении целой страны без разбора.

I’m against military operations, different invasions and wars. I can’t be responsible for government decisions. Nobody is blaming citizens of other countries for their conflicts all over the world even if they have democracy and people have more influence for their leaders. I didn’t break the law or something like this. The only reason is wrong place of birth. How can we call it? Discrimination. It’s very nice, Deezer.

Unfortunately, the moderators here leave these uncomfortable questions unanswered. Apparently, now we are not worthy not only of an account in deezer, but also of being noticed in this community (for music lovers - sarcasm) .

Тогда это надо было "продавать" своим пользователям под другим соусом и мы бы все поняли, а так это предательство.
