Hey there @Patrick H.

There's obviously a reason you’re testing deezer, some dissatisfaction with your current provider, maybe even beyond the recent price hike (we’ve seen quite a lot of former Spotify users here), so perhaps you will weigh the benefits deezer offers versus what you were used to.

Whatever you decide, thanks for giving deezer a try. There are trade-offs with every service and we all need to find what works for us.

Best of luck wherever you land.

Damn, I just wanted to switch do Deezer and integrate it with pleezer to my multiple moode PIs in my home.
Then I found this... It’s the wrong way, you cut features for users without real need.
Just canceled my plans for a family subscription - and I’m not happy with this decision because I wanted to support a european alternative.

Hi @GropplerZorn

Thanks for the reply. I was a Spotify user ready to make the switch to Deezer, and yes, I really like the service. But the decision to kill the open-source ecosystem is a dealbreaker for me. It’s not an improvement to the listening experience, it's a move to control the ecosystem and force users to buy licensed hardware.

I am not buying into this. Even if there are things I dislike about Spotify, I will stick with them because they let me stream the way I want, on the hardware I choose; that is an optimal listening experience for me.

I can only hope Deezer might reconsider this strategy. For me this decision feels very shortsighted.

The  quality of sound of deezer is better. They treat artists better. Spotify was treating artïsts bad and where do they invest their mony.. I never heard of big deezer scandals.deezer thinks straight about AI music. Little features for convenience they skipped some time ago. No reasonto quit deezer

I am in the exact same position, just created my premium account and seeing this stupid decision-making, I will be moving back to Spotify of Qobuz. Good job team!

Now that Spotify is rolling out lossless with even higher quality than Deezer, so not having Connect seems like an even more bad decision…

I will move to Spotify just to try the new format, the things I will miss with Deezer is Flow and ability to shuffle my music, but Spotify has really good new recommendation features.

I have had Deezer for many years now so probably will be back soon :)

What kind of crappy player stops playing the music on the computer when u change track from the phone. I want it to continue playing from computer and not start playing from my phone speakers. If this crappy behavior continues I will stop my subscription. Especially reading that you had this feature before and ffs stopped that function! Just add the possibility to remote control from webbrowser and continue playing on that player even though I use the deezer app on phone within a month and I stay and may write a positive review.

Please consider a new and improved DeezerConnect. It’s the only feature other platforms have over Deezer. Deezer sounds better. There’s a missed opportunity here. It sounds so good on the Bluesound Nodes

This is a shame. I left spotify, assuming this was a standard feature across all platforms. I have very expensive studio monitors hooked up to my pc and am often not close to it so I use my phone.

Without pleezer Deezer is worth nothing. The suggestion algorithm is horrible. The only good thing I can think of besides pleezer was the free transfer of playlist from other streaming platforms. I will leave again since without pleezer it is just a really bad deal.
Sad and surprised about the stupidity,

good bye

This is absurd. I, too, made the switch from Spotify a couple months ago. Deezer has been the best alternative I found, except for lacking any way to remotely control the app. Now I learn you once offered this feature but recently *decided* to kill it?? 🤦‍♀️ Is that your business model? Remove features people count on, with no sensible explanation or possible workaround?

@ashcreighton Deezer Connect never remotely controlled the app in the way that Spotify Connect does. It was a feature with an extremely limited use case and functionality, and was scrapped because of that.

We all have to choose our service(s) based on the totality of their function, appeal, and many times the company behind them. If you find that the absence of Deezer Connect rules the service out, then thank you for giving it a try and best of luck wherever you land.

I just switched from Spotify because of the boycott. But in 2025, it’s crazy to not have the same functionality as Spotify… that's why I chose Spotify 10 years ago, for better connectivity. I convinced 5 of my friends to switch but they are really disapoointed too by this lack or feature. Please add it

Deezer should implement new and improved Connect option to match competitors.

Hi,

I highly agree with everyone, a new and improved Deezer Connect would mean a lot of improvment in daily uses for me. Please please please reconsider it.

Just got my trial month. I think my decision is already made. From my android phone I only can stream with bluetooth to my system. That is not what I need. Was used to Bubbleupnp to cast directly to my streamer. The only serious option now is Qobuz if I want to avoid American providers and the not so sympathetic Spotify. I will keep an eye on this forum to see if Deezer Connect will return.

Honestly: replies like this are embarrassing. It’s not a constructive response to an important concern, it comes across as dismissive and condescending.

I’ve already stopped using Deezer, and after reading comments like this I don’t see myself coming back or recommending it to anyone. It’s just a shame, omg.
If Deezer (or the moderators) brush off user feedback with “then go elsewhere,” nobody should be surprised when people actually do, and when competitors end up looking better simply because they take feedback seriously.

@matthias.b the feature is gone. nothing I, or anyone else, can say will bring it back. I acknowledged that we all have our requirements for a service, thanked Fred for trying Deezer, and wished him the best at qobuz in his quest for a service that meets his needs. others in the thread have thanked me for taking the time to reply.

no, I am not surprised when people leave. Deezer has 9.2 million subscribers and, like every other business, they need to do what brings the most good to the most people. in this case that means eliminating Deezer connect. by doing so, some folks will be unhappy and will leave. that’s part of business.

thank you for stopping back all these months later and leaving your feedback, and I wish you the best wherever you landed.

How was such a basic function removed? This seems more like laziness or incompetence on the part of the developers of this platform. It’s truly shameful.

I started a trial for family plan and projected to quit spotify.

I migrated playlists, installed the apps, connected everywhere and searched the connect button….

I arrived here, read all the topics, canceled the subscription to deezer.

Impossible for deezer to be the only streaming service not having connect fonction ? Yes it is.

I’ll go back when and if you fix this.

Not having possibility to switch and interact between devices, not having a “jam” feature, it’s a big nope for me.

Too bad, i really wanted to switch for deezer.
