I am loving the new branding!. I hope this also means new features that help us connect with each other, like being able to join our friends in what they are listening, set up Deezer as alarm tone (Configure like an album or a specific search for that), live listening sessions (I set up a playlist we start listening with friends in my house, and I can invite anyone with a Deezer account to modify the music queue, so everyone can request for their favorite music).

I for one dislike this “Rebranding”, it looks uninovative, plain and “samey”, and randomly changing the UI layout is a genuinely terrible idea, especially with removing quick access buttons to albums and playlists, and to have all this without the option of switching it back to the layout it used to be is arguably even worse and the font is just offensive to the eyes, im not sure how you found a font worse than Comic Sans, but you did.

Feel like I need to voice some opinions on this, first off the good stuff, the larger playlist icon when you open a playlist is great, and the purple colour for the app fits really well, I like it. However, the new font for to headers, such as playlist names, or the home when you open the app, is terrible, it looks out of place and just overall very odd, and the new logo just doesn't look very professional, if you ask me the old logo was fine.

Obviously I'm not a design expert or app design expert by any stretch, but I'd personally prefer to see a slightly better fitting font for the app that's a little more uniform and less bold, not necessarily a boring basic font, but less cartoonish, and I'd rather the logo be a little more creative and maybe a little cleaner, this whole rebrand isn't necessarily a bad thing it just lacks personality.

What’s the point of this redesign if the app still doesn’t natively support ARM64 processors and is terribly slow on both Mac and Windows on ARM PC? To lag beautifully? And that’s with taking into account that the app is built with some of these multiplatform fatty web frameworks like Electron or ReactNative or somthing, which all now support ARM64.

I don’t like the new logo at all.

Why a heart?

It sits on my taskbar (or phone home screen) like some weird “dating app”

Makes me want to switch to Spotify on the spot !

It’s a __music__ app ffs!

I like most of the UI changes. I am even OK with the tabloid newspaper style typeface for Deezer and Home. But the purple heart. Ugh. It looks like the icon of a dating app.

Wouldn’t 64-bit ARM support only benefit fanless laptops like the MacBook Air and some Chromebooks? I won’t call it niche, but I think Deezer won’t fundamentally change the app architecture until it is forced to.

I am sure you guys spent a lot of money in it, but the new brand looks cheap and outfashioned. At first I thought it was a belated Halloween campaign. Now it looks like a dating app for emos. You should have used the funds to enhance the algorithm for more unique suggestions, as it was in the past.

The purple heart is cute.

I personally don't like the new fonts and the graphic design for the playlist covers and buttons.  It feels cartoonish and tacky.

I think a minimalistic classy design suits deezer better

The background player color is nice and I love it but the play button is overly stretched and it's just weird.

I think Deezer should actually focus on the user experience.  The problems are still there.

we are not graphic designers but I feel like everyone is saying how they dislike the new design. It's a sign for you guys to rethink this new interface

I’m okay with rebranding but the “heart” logo feels weird + the web version’s UI changes are just bad. Why would anyone do that? This “sidebar” on the left doesn’t make any sense, it’s not a mobile app. I love Deezer and I will stay with it no matter how UI and brand changes, but this certainly is not an improvement in my opinion, sorry.

Well, I wouldn’t say macs are that “niche” laptops, that includes all mac computer, not only fanless (e.g. MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iMac etc), ass all Aplle devices are ARM-based now. Apple has recently released 3rd generation of their ARM processor family, so there was lot of time to implement support for this, like lots of apps did (e.g. Spotify). As for ARM-based windows PCs, there are Surface devices based on Qualcomm processors, as well as some from other manufacturers. Also, many people run windows in a virtual machine on Macs to combine best of the worlds, so having Deezer in the VM is convenient (you don’t have to switch back and forth between Mac OS and Windows just to interact with Deezer).

Now, why do you think some fundamental app changes are required? As I said, the app is based on a multiplatform framework, which for sure supports ARM64. Many other apps, based on such frameworks, already support ARM (e.g. Spotify), and usually that means recompiling the app with different platform architecture, and, possibly, port some platform specific parts (which in such app should not be numerous). Also, keep in mind, that Deezer already has it’s app running natively on portable devices like phones and tablets, so I’m sure there already is implementation for everything ARM-specific in those apps.

My opinions about the new design:

  1. The new font of the title is horrible, it looks like a children's app or a Halloween edition;

  2. Logo looks like a dating app and the design is an aberration, on PC I can't see the details very well and the animation when starting up looks like a bat;

  3. The user interface is ok on Android, but it has problems, the Favorites tab shows three songs from my Favorites, but I prefer to see my Playlists first to Favorites (if possible, create an option to change the order of this);

  4. The UI and UX on Windows app doesn't work properly;

    Home UI

    Red Section: No longer slides the name of the song or the artists.
    Blue Section: Sometimes it doesn't show the playlists, just to create them and could have an option to change the size of the covers or remove them (like on Spotify).
    Yellow Section: It could be resizable (like in Spotify) and remove the Favorites and Downloads shortcuts (this could only stay in the Playlists section) and add the search shortcut in their place.

    Similar Artists UI

    Has A lot of space on the final of covers.

    Oficial Deezer Playlists

    Now Deezer playlist covers are ugly and very weird.

  5. All the bugs that have already been reported are still present in this new version, including some are UI issues, like these buttons.

    This buttons never worked on Windows App.

If this update is not undone, I will migrate to Spotify, because if I wanted a copy of Spotify' UI I would stick with Spotify, which has more useful features than deezer (Spotify Connect is much better than deezer connect and works without bugs, it has Discord RPC, it has a better PC UI etc).

The icon looks like a dating app, seriously. A purple heart?!?  It does not deliver passion for music and the experience of its users but it remembers a place to find people to f***. Now I am embraced to have such an icon on my front page.

Before Deezer was about (rainbow) colors of the music now it looks like a purple childish dating app.

This change out of the blue is so disappointing. I cannot stand it at all.

Whatever but change the icon asap.

Horrible!!

Sorry I'll wait a while or I'll go to spotify

I think this is the best rebranding that Deezer has done in its entire streaming history. This is such a powerful Zoomer vibe in the spirit of Dazed magazine (the fonts and design are very similar to the layout) and some very fashionable, electronic, music festivals - these are my personal associations.

I'm glad that Deezer is moving away from its old-school roots - and no offense to all those comments that are against the new logo - Deezer's loyal audience, unfortunately, was mostly conservative and not very inspired by new trend trends.
But the fact remains that even the artists whom Deezer actively promoted rarely did reposts and other social activities - everything that they are much more willing to do with Spotify - also because Spotify has a much clearer design language - understandable and modern.
And there is no point in holding on to the conservative demands of your small fan base, limiting your growth and new audiences.

It seems to me that Deezer’s strength lies in its difference from media giants like Spotify, because it is unlikely that it will be possible to win the game on their field. Going somewhere more experimental, indie, electronic and curatorial niche, opening up new names and formats, will be the right decision, I hope that all of the above will not be limited to the visual picture, but from the inside the platform will be bolder and more experimental.

As an example - I personally miss exclusive content with indie and electronic artists, in the spirit of the cover albums that they recorded earlier, with French collections about summer, Christmas and indie covers of hits of the 80s and 90s, this is what really distinguished platform from many others. Which, unfortunately, cannot be said about Deezer sessions, which are simple live performances with little uniqueness and exclusivity of content.

Can you please fix the swipe down gesture for the now playing screen!

Crossfade was removed!!! Bring it back!!!

Bring the old logo back please !!

Please for the love of god change the icon. It looks like a dating app. Also, why do the album covers are small in the now playing screen, even though they have the space to be big? Whose idea was this? Where did the “shuffle all my music” button go? Where did the information about the albums (most popular song, duration, song numbers) go? Also, who changed the back ground colors for the now playing screen? It looks even worse.

It’s probably unrealistic to expect you to revert all the changes but at least fix those problems i mentioned

this is awful, if there is no option to get back to the old UI I guess it will be time to move to spotify...

Why purple? Why a heart? It doesn’t match as a music app. Please, review the changes.

The “New Look” looks childish, unprofessional and a legitimate reason to carefully look at renewing my subscription.

It’s like Fortnite, Twitch and YouTube had a wild night with too much alcohol.

The new logo is just flat out horrible. opened up my phone this morning and thought it installed spyware for some g*y date app, until I saw it was Deezer. went to the site to see if it was some kind of joke, but unfortunately it wasn’t.

Keep it if you like, but if it stays this way I vote with my wallet.

hell, I pay for premium and cant even listen to songs from the country I live in. (they used to be available though...)

mambo-jambo.

I was happy after recent problems was fixed after 4 months, and now I need to think about switching to something else. AGAIN! Because of the “vibrant purple heart”!!!

Come on, Deezer! What was wrong with the old logo? Make it purple, but change the heart to something else!

:(((
