Windows/Mac Desktop App Widget

I miss the widget, if I remember correctly it was/is available on Mac, where you have the most important buttons, such as previous/play/pause/next buttons, like/dislike, add to playlist etc. This was available if you hovered your mouse over Deezer in the taskbar and the widget appeared. Once Deezer is minimized, could have the option to minimize to widget or to system tray.

Hey @AgroPuppy

It should be still present, do you maybe have an M1?

Hey @Yula

If that’s still available that’s awesome. No I do not, I’m sorry I made it sound like I had a Mac, I did, but recently moved over to windows and that was a feature I loved about the desktop app.

If you press H for Help or ? either in the Windows desktop app or web player, keyboard shortcuts for some essential navigation commands appear at the bottom. Maybe you mean those?

To hide them just press H or ? again, Esc will not work.

Hey @AgroPuppy, definetly still available on Windows!

You just need to allow the widget from the settings of your pc.

Hey @Yula, where are those setttings?

I was looking for this too, because I like to know what’s playing, but the full app is way too busy and distracting for me, with all its suggestions and so on.

On the Mac, there doesn’t seem to be a widget currently, but a different option for a minimalist interface is to go to Settings > Control Center and set the “Now Playing” module to show (always, or when active).

Then, you get a little “Play”-type button in the menu bar, and when you click on it, a tiny pop-up appears with the name of the current song and artist, and pause / back / forward buttons.

Of course you also have the media keys on Macs and most PCs that let you pause and switch tracks without leaving the keyboard, and maybe the controls on your earphones… but none of those show the current track.
