Deezer app not working on Samsung TVs

As titled, the Deezer app has stopped working on two different Samsung tv models since a couple of days ago. ”Deezer server not responding” is the message I get. I reinstalled the app with same problem left. I’m located in Stockholm, Sweden. Any suggestions? Time for an of update perhaps of the Deezer app?

@Ajs79

Seems there are some users having problems with deezer app on several TV brands. Philips and Panasonic problems also were reported.
May be @Yula or @Jaime. can ask the team if there is a known problem…

One more question… how old are these two TV devices? If older then 2017 there is running an older version of the Deezer app that is not longer supported.

@Superschlumpf  Thank you for getting involved in this thread discussion. The TVs are from 2016 and 2017. However both support currently all other updated available streaming and music platforms including Spotify, HBO, Netflix etc.. I’m not quiet sure it has to do with Deezer phasing out (without prior notice) the Deezer app (which still could be downloaded) from older Samsung TV models. I cant even log in to my Deezer account via the web browser on TV.

But if this could be confirmed (that Deezer is phased out on older TVs before 2017) in this thread by a Deezer software employee, than that would be much appreciated and great relief so we stop trying having back a functional Deezer app on our current older TV models.

Ok, seems that on your TVs the old deezer app is running. I could imagine that it can’t connect to the deezer servers in a proper way anymore.
Let‘s wait if @Yula can give more information.

Imho TV platforms generally are very limited for using apps, because the OS often gets no more updates after 1 or 2 years so that new app updates aren’t compatible anymore.
In comparison for example with an AppleTV they have poor performance.
just my two cents… 😉

Hmm, I just installed the deezer app on my 43AU7105K (so 2021 model) and doesn’t work either. I can see the play button but it won’t start, even though it seems like it’s playing when on the main screen. I also live in Stockholm, Sweden. Don’t know if it’s a regional issue

In fact it also could be a server/ network problem. Let‘s wait if @Yula has some more information.
Was there an update for your TV firmware and or the Deezer app before it stopped working?

@Superschlumpf

Actually I just bought the tv and installed the app. The tv also came with the latest firmware, so everything is up to date and clean. I tried a soft reset by holding the remote power button until it turns back on but the problem persists

Ok, can you please delete and reinstall the Deezer app on your TV.
Turning off and on again TVs network connection and restarting your router also could help.

@Superschlumpf

no, unfortunately none of these worked. I’ve also attached a couple of pictures to get an idea of my problem:

in the first picture, you can see the stuck play button while in the second one you can see at the top left that it looks like it’s playing. Note that I haven’t connected anything on the tv (such as speakers)

Ok, at this point i‘m out of it… no more idea what‘s the reason for this. 🤔
May be another Samsung User can help or @Yula has more information.

No worries, thanks for trying!

Well said, @Superschlumpf and thanks for the ping!

We are not supported on TVs manufactured before 2017,

can you please tell me your used id?
