Recently I upgraded my pc with a faster M.2 Nvme Samsung 980 ssd - this upgrade has required me to reinstall Windows 10 and all the necessary drivers. After doing it so, I wanted to install Deezer.

I downloaded the latest version from your website “DeezerDesktopSetup_5.30.590” then run the installer. Installation start right away but mid installing / loading the window close by itself when it gets to the red line in my screenshot from below. I guess the installer just crash.

Restart computer, try again with same problem. I see there’s a “missing icon” Deezer shortcut on my Desktop - try to open it: Windows can’t find deezer.exe. Open Settings / Apps & Features, search for Deezer, yes, the app seem to be installed.

Try to Uninstall Deezer app I get an error:  “Error launching installer”  - At this point I’m stuck, I can’t uninstall or install Deezer on my computer.

Please help me here…
Regards,
Stefan

Hey @scutu_mix

Please try to run the installation file as administrator (right click -> submenu).

If that doesn't work, you could try an older version, such as the 570:
https://www.deezer.com/desktop/download/artifact/win32/x86/5.30.570

Thanks for getting back to me. Good to know that there are older versions available.

I tried the version 570 and I have the exact same experience. The installation crash at the same point, the installed app now appears as version 570 but still can’t uninstall it.

Is there any other older version available, or any other possible solution for my situation?

That's really strange. I'm not a friend of the MS Store, but you could try the deezer version offered there.

Otherwise you could try the last 4 version of the desktop app:
https://www.deezer.com/desktop/download/artifact/win32/x86/4.19.30

Quite strange, the version 4.19.30 also had the same problems… So I installed the version from Windows App Store - which actually worked - I have it now running. This is version: 5.30.590.

But.. the Windows App Store Deezer shortcut is “Deezer Music” where the  shortcut of the installation from your website is called “Deezer”. Also in the installed apps it appears as a different app than what I installed / failed previously.

How can I uninstall the older Deezer apps that are not working?

Hello @scutu_mix good to hear that you have manage to install the Deezer app.

But indeed very weird that you had all this trouble. We don’t have similar reports on Windows 10.

Searched in the web and found two articles how to remove broken apps on Windows 10. You might need to touch your Registry.

Remove apps - Windows Support

Remove apps - Dell support for Windows 10

Hope that works for you.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes. I was able to remove the unwanted apps by using a registry cleaner app.

Everything seems to be working normal for now!

I wish I can fully customize my Deezer Experience by re-arranging or removing tiles on the app. as I do it on my Android Tv. Where I can request this feature?
