Deezer Offline doesn't work in Mac!

I have downloaded my favourite tracks on my mac but when I don’t have net connection it cannot play them. So basically offline playing in Mac doesn’t work!

Any idea to solve that? Is it a deezer problem?

Hi, could you please update to the latest version 6.0.120 and let me know if the problem persists.
Thanks and apologies for the inconvenience

I am already on the latest version (‘6.0.120’) but it doesn’t work. So basically if I go to my downloads I cannot play them. Also there is no offline bottom that I can activate even if it is necessary.

@Amir Sol @Jaime.

I can reproduce the error on a Mac M1 with latest desktop app version 6.0.120. When I go into the app offline, I get this message:

When I click on “Check out downloads” I see my downloads and can select an album. But then error MS0600 occurs. I once made a video of it, which can be found here:

When I start a downloaded album and am online, everything is fine. If I go offline during this time, the current song continues to play normally. If I click on the next song, error MS0600 occurs again:

Hi @Amir Sol @E0xc815, this MS0600 error typically occurs when you have content downloaded in a different audio format than the one you're trying to play.

To resolve this issue, please try clearing the cache, deleting the app, and then reinstalling the latest version.

When downloading content, ensure that you maintain the same audio quality for playback to avoid encountering this error.

@Leonídia.Deezer

Before the test, I had freshly installed the desktop app and downloaded an album. I wanted to play this without changing the audio quality.

@Leonídia.Deezer

I also had an almost fresh installation. There is no setting for download quality in Mac. However, my playback quality is set to High Fidelity.

I just tried one thing that helped me playing a downloaded playlist:

disconnected WIFI → change playback audio quality from High Fidelity → Normal → High Fidelity

It seems that I need to do this every time to be able to play downloaded ones.

Also I get an annoying flashing message on top : ‘Your computer seems to be offline. We’ll keep trying to reconnect’

Interesting, @Amir Sol: With this workaround I can also play downloaded songs when my Mac is offline. Without this double change of audio quality it doesn't work at all.

Hi @Amir Sol @E0xc815, thanks for sharing those interesting steps to overcome this error message.

By the way, I have proceed with a new test, were I couldn't find any issue playing content offline, but regarding the flashing, I could reproduce the same.

I have already shared this information and a video with our developers to understand what might be wrong.

As mentioned above, it was always been told that error MS0600 was linking to different quality audio between what was downloaded and the actual configuration in the audio settings.

I will keep pushing the investigation to get some feedback to share with all of you.

I just wanted to add that this error with the same code is also happening on the desktop app on Windows 11.

I had an event that needed the songs offline and on my Windows 11 and Mac OS I found the same error when I left it offline to test.

Hi @Jaime.Deezer,

Can you ask how this is going so far? Just like @Sam Lecoeur, I do miss the offline option on a Mac.

I’m upping this thread as I switched to Deezer yesterday and already encountered this issue with my macbook M2 on OS13.7. Tracks get downloaded but the app will automatically force a reconnect and showing the popup message ‘Your computer seems to be offline. We’ll keep trying to reconnect’ and refuse to display downloaded tracks. One time out of two, I cannot even click or scroll through the app, and the other times when i’m able to, I can only see my downloaded playlists and play them from the playlists display, but am unable to open them and select individual or specific tracks. Instead, trying to opening downloaded playlists offline will always lead to the error page “You seem to be offline, sorry, we can’t load this page while you’re not connected to the internet”…

I beg anyone working at Deezer to do something because not everyone has access to wifi all the day during work etc and it gets really frustrating. Without feedback and information on the issue, how it is dealt with etc, my Deezer experience might not last long sadly !

Hi @Wes L5 I’ve tested on a Mac and downloaded favourites, playlists and albums and didn’t have any problem or the pop up message you mentioned.
Could you please download the latest version of the Deezer app (www.deezer.com/download) and try again?
Thanks and apologies for the inconvenience.
