Our Deezer Next Artist for the month of AUGUST… Cassyette

Ever heard about her?

Straight out of Essex, England, Cassyette started her journey as a DJ spinning tracks on the London live circuit, before making a bold leap into the rock scene. Her early musical endeavors displayed her diverse influences, seamlessly blending elements of punk, metal, and electronic music. These eclectic roots crafted her unique sound that listeners can't get enough of.

In 2019, she dropped her debut single "Jean" but Cassyette's breakthrough came with hits like "Dear Goth" and "Prison Purse" which showcased her dynamic vocal range and potent lyricism. Her songs often explore themes of personal empowerment, rebellion, and emotional vulnerability, resonating deeply with a wide audience.

Cassyette's not just making music; she's setting stages on fire. She recently rocked the roof off our Paris HQ with an electrifying performance of of her single “Friends in Low Places" from her brand-new album 'This World Fucking Sucks'.

I discovered Paul Russell

Paul Russell

Singer, songwriter and rapper Paul Russell's journey began in Dallas, U.S.A., where he grew up with a deep passion for making music. During his high school years, Russell was already drawn to performing live, and armed with his ukulele, he started booking gigs at local spots like cafés and pizza shops. In 2017, his star began to rise with his debut single “Youth” a collaboration with Jet Trouble, which garnered over 315,000 online streams, putting him on the musical radar, which he followed with Via Text, a collaboration with Christian artist Ruslan. After graduating in 2019, he made the move to Los Angeles while working a corporate job during the day and in March, Kings Dream Entertainment released his solo album Once in a Dry Season, featuring genre-blending tracks like “Kalamazoo” and "Kimbo Slice” which gained notable airplay. By 2020, he began making his mark on social media, gradually building a dedicated fanbase, and it was this commitment that resulted in two albums, and an impressive collection of singles, including "FaceTime (4g LITE)", (2020) "Hallelujah" (2021) and "H4U" (2022), accumulating over four million streams. In 2023, Paul released "Lil Boo Thang," a pop hip-hop track that sampled the 1970s hit, "Best of My Love" by The Emotions. The song became a social media sensation, featured in over 50,000 posts, some reaching millions of views. With its catchy fusion of modern vocals and a timeless sample, Lil Boo Thang " climbed to number 37 on the Top 40 Radio Pop Songs chart in September that year.
