Ever heard about them?
Lava La Rue is quickly becoming a rising star in the world of alternative Hip-Hop. They are a London-based artist of Jamaican descent whose musical style fuses trends such as hip-hop, R&B, indie rock, and lo-fi, reinventing themselves in each work.
Founder and member of the Nine8 collective, which also includes artists such as Biig Piig and Nayana Iz, this arts and music collective serves as a creative hub for young, underground artists in London.
Their breakthrough came with the 2018 release of "Letra," showing off amazing lyrics and smooth mix of genres in songs like "Widdit" and "Burn”. They kept the flow going with the 2020 EP "Butter-Fly”, which cemented their spot in the music world with a blend of introspective tracks and catchy tunes like "Angel" and "G.O.Y.D.”, proving just how versatile and talented they are.
Recently, Lava La Rue joined the star-studded lineup for Deezer InVersions 2000s, surprising fans with a contemporary twist on N'Sync's classic hit, “Girlfriend”. Their reinterpretation showcases their innovative approach and ability to connect across generations.
They also visited us in our HQ in Paris and recorded an incredible live version of “Sandown Beach”
