Our Deezer Next Artist for the month of June… Paris Paloma

Ever heard about her?

Paris Paloma, the enchanting singer-songwriter from the countryside of Derbyshire, UK, crafts her music with inspiration from mythology, art history, and the Romantic era. Her music explores themes like female fury, grief, love, death, and power, all wrapped up in an ethereal sound that fuses dark-pop, folk, and indie vibes.

I started playing music in my teens, before then I was doing creative writing. I thought I was gonna end up being an author and write novels. At some point those stories turn into songs and that felt like a much more immediate and authentic delivery of the stories I had in my head, and my favourite way to get inspired when writing songs is to sort of go out into nature and think about the world I’m building out of my mind because music has always been a coping mechanism and emotional outlet for me”, she told us while in Paris.

Imagine a mystical blend of alternative magic! She made her debut with the single "Narcissus" in September 2020, followed by the EP Cemeteries and Socials .

Since then, Paloma has been on a roll, dropping hit after hit, including "Underneath" (2021), "Cradle" (2021), and "The Fruits" (2022). However, it was her feminist anthem "Labour", released on March 23, 2023, that really brought her widespread attention, going viral on social media before its official release, climbing up on the Top 100 singles chart.

Paris Paloma visited us in our HQ in Paris and amazed us with a beautiful live version of her track “boys, bugs and men, followed by a cover of "Devil Wears a Suit and Tie" by Colter Wall

Mark Ambor

Mark Ambor turned his status as a social media influencer into commercial success as a singer/songwriter with 2024's "Belong Together," a song that reached the Top 40 in more than a half-dozen countries. He was born in New York on December 4, 2000, and began creating music as a teenager, taking inspiration from artists like James Bay, Ed Sheeran, Hozier, and Mumford & Sons. "Fever," his debut single, was released in 2019, earning more than one million streams on Spotify and introducing him to TikTok audiences. 2020's "It's Us Again" contributed to Ambor's viral popularity, while also introducing a sunnier, upbeat sound that would characterize most of his music going forward. One year later, "The Long Way" elevated Amber's career to new heights, earning more than 10 million streams on Spotify and reappearing on Ambor's first EP, Hair Tossed, Arms Crossed, in 2022. A full-length album, Hello World, also appeared in 2022, earning viral hits with "Sky is the Limit" and "Hair Tossed, Arms Crossed." One year later, Ambor earned another viral hit with "Good To Be," another acoustic anthem that blended folk and pop influences into the same pot. These early successes paved the way for "Belong Together," which became a radio hit across Europe in 2024. Within two months of its release, the song had reached number 13 in the UK, number 6 in Switzerland, number 13 in Norway, number 12 in the Netherlands, number 5 in Austria, and number 8 in both Ireland and Germany.
