Their sound is a blend of rock and Americana. Think of NEEDTOBREATHE when trying to name a comparable musical style and vocal approach.

Nestled between Los Angeles and San Diego lies Orange County, California: a culturally, economically, and environmentally diverse community with its own distinct identity. Hailing from the heart of Orange County, The Brevet continues to create an ever-evolving sound that pushes stylistic boundaries. Just as Orange County is home to snow-capped mountains, pristine beaches, and bustling urban centers, The Brevet's alternative rock sound authentically draws from the influences of folk, surf, and R&B, but doesn't shy away from thundering rhythms, blistering guitars, and progressive synths.

Brevetโ€™s roots date back to college, when frontman Aric Chase Damm began writing scores for student films and discovered he had a knack for creating the kind of evocative music that produces unforgettable moments on screen. Those early songs led to a licensing deal, and tracks from the bandโ€™s two independent albums (2013โ€™s Battle of the Heart and 2017โ€™s American Novel) would go on to appear in a wide variety of films and TV shows, in addition to racking up over nine million Spotify streams. With all of The Brevetโ€™s success on screen and online, the group (Damm, drummer David Aguiar, guitarist John Kingsley, and bassist Julian Johnson) was more than ready to get out of the studio and on stage. Over the course of the past year, theyโ€™ve hit the road for the most intense tour of their careers, playing a slew of headline shows alongside support dates with Magic Giant and appearances at festivals ranging from BottleRock to Firefly.

Now, The Brevet shares their passion with the world in the American novel. "I hope we can talk about everyone's journey," Michael concludes, "we're in this together, and this is the first step."
By combining Americana rock, sweeping orchestral tracks, gang vocals, haunting choruses, and connective emotional lyrics, The Brevet passionately pours their hearts out through cinematic sounds, leading fans and critics to label them one of the first in the 'Epic Americana' genre.

The Brevet's "Wanderers" is a powerful American rock album that explores themes of wandering spirit and authenticity, standing out among the empty songs on TikTok. The album is praised for its profound lyrics, anthemic sounds, and solid songwriting, with some songs co-written with Rob Thomas and Kevin Griffin. It is considered a consistently good album with emotional resonance, with standout tracks like "American Novel," "Hazy Eyes," and "Moving Mountains." The production also stands out for its clean and clear sound, with well-executed guitar melodies.
