"The Wanderer" is a 1961 hit song by Dion DiMucci, written by Ernie Maresca and featured on the Runaround Sue album. It is a blues-based rock-and-roll song about a nomadic, shallow "macho" character. 
Despite its upbeat sound, Dion described it as a "sad song" about a lonely man going nowhere.
 Ranked #243 on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Songs of All Time," it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2017.
The song was featured in the trailer and soundtrack for the video game Fallout 4.
