The British singer turns 30 today and has achieved a lot at such a young age! In honour of his birthday we want to look at his journey and achievements so far.
2010 – 2016 - Early Days
Harry's music career started at the early age of only 16. In 2010 he auditioned for the The X Factor in the UK as a solo artist and sang a version of Steve Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely". Harry made it to boot but didn't get through to the judges. He and four other boys who didn't make it were put into a group – One Direction was born. Along with Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, Harry reached the final of The X Factor and came third. After their first single "What Makes You Beautiful" was released in 2011, the boys quickly began to conquer the world. Harry and the 1D boys celebrated huge success and won over 200 awards. In 2016, however, they all decided to take a break to focus on their solo careers.
2017 – 2018 - First Solo Album and Film Debut
In 2017 Harry released his first solo single 'Sign of the Times', from his self-titled debut album which was a big success and reached number one in several countries. It showed a new side to the star that fans hadn't seen during his time with One Direction and included soft rock tracks and felt more personal.
In the same year Harry also made his feature film debut in Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk", where he portrayed a British soldier named Alex.
His success continued with his first solo tour, Harry Styles: Live On Tour, in the first half of 2018.
2019 – 2021 - Second Album, more Film Roles and his own Brand
In 2019 he released his second album Fine Line. It included the hit song Watermelon Sugar which earned Harry his first Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance. He also started to promote the slogan “Treat People with Kindness” after which he wrote a song of the same name that appeared on Fine line.
Unfortunately, due to the pandemic Harry wasn’t able to go on Tour with that album until the end of 2021 which marked the beginning of his hugely popular “Love on Tour”.
On top of that, he was able to secure two more film roles: “My Policeman” and “Don’t worry Darling” which were both released the following year in 2022.
To make the year even better: Harry launched his exclusive beauty and lifestyle brand “Pleasing”.
2022 – 2023 - Coachella and 3rd solo Album
Harry's success continued when he headlined the Coachella festival in April 2022. He performed some of his biggest hits such as 'Adore You' and 'Watermelon Sugar', along with his new single 'As It Was'.
In May of the same year he released his 3rd and latest solo Album Harry’s House which brought him two more Grammys – Album of the year and Best Pop Album.
Last year, after 2 years of non-stop performing, Harry finished his successful Love on Tour and announced a well-deserved break with a beautiful Instagram Video as tribute to his fans and tour. 'To the most inspiring people I know. Goodbye for now. Love On Tour forever.'
