I downloaded app today and have set some things to download. I’ve gone off and left it to its own devices and now it’s saying my app is inactive and I need to restart it to continue with the download. Any help would be appreciated

Hi @ls1971 , on what device does this happen and have you tried to log out and back in?
Hi Anja, i am on iphone 7. It seems to be when i leave phone to download it does it.
I didn't realise i was limited to storage as well as had to delete some as had no room.

@ls1971 so does it work now after you released some storage on the phone?
Yes it seems to be fine but will try again as not had time to do anything for the last few days
I have loads of storage and it still keeps happening I don’t think it’s a storage the app is closing for no reason

Hi there, what is happening exactly? Any error message? Do you have an sd card by any chance?
I recently subscribed to Deezer when I am downloading my music the error message comes up about the app been inactive and to restart it. Its an iPhone with about 200 GB free. All of music does not download it stops then I get the error message this happens on both my iPhones and iPad

Hi there @Patobrien

Have you checked if you're logged in using the right credentials? I've unlinked your devices and sent a password reset email. Please change your password and try to login on those devices again. And let me know if it helps 😉

i have same problem in 2021 😎

Hey @mhemdan

Our app is currently unable to use data in the background, on iOS. We've been looking into that for a while. If there are any changes, I'll get to message you here.

Thank you for your support :relaxed:

I have the same issue. Has the matter been resolved yet?

This is something we still need to discuss further @Nicole.Lubbe it's to ensure a certain level of performance of the app at the moment.

Thanks for the query! I'll pass on the feedback.

I was able to get around this by leaving the app playing.  Because I do most of my listening at work where I have WiFi, I wanted to download music overnight to save on cellular data.

One year on and still getting same message on iPhone 14. You should be on your game here.

@Shayne Horton

If you make a download and then the app switches to the background, this message comes up. It's always been like this and it's normal.
Open the app and the downloads will continue.

@dee_dirk Normal for Deezer or normal for all music streaming apps?

Normal for Deezer or normal for all music streaming apps?

This question is completely unnecessary. We're talking about deezer here and no other music apps.

app deleted and unsubscribed forever. another thing that makes you loose customers.

Hello @guslending

We are sorry to hear that you are leaving! 😥
If you change your mind and would like to subscribe again, you can do so via deezer.com/offers 😄

Dear Alfredo,

Dear Deezer Customer Experience,
Dear Tech Department,

Dear Product Department,

instead of being sorry, better fix the issue which is apparently existing for several years. It can’t be that difficult unless software devs are spammed with unimportant tasks. Just a little hint from personal professional experience if the team doesn’t have the customer’s satisfaction / experience as a top priority then you will leave the playing field very soon.

Your company is expecting from users to pay the same as for Apple Music. Since you are a company which doesn’t do anything but a Music app / music platform, I would assume Deezer is much better at this than Apple. But from my view so far the opposite is true.

The user-centric model is also not too convincing because Apple just says we’ll make the pie bigger and you are saying let’s divide the pie more fairly based on our interpretation of what is fair.

I don’t think being aware of that is the solution and this is ultimate catch. Being aware is in any company’s interest and being sorry is damage-control and buying time and patience from customers, but fixing the issue is what keeps customers or increases the cash inflow. Everything else is rent-seeking as economists say.
Any customer understands that.

So thanks for the offer but I decline sincerely.

I thought I would chip in.

Let's make this clear

This isn't a issue that Deezer has control of.

This is a limit that Apple have imposed on iOS. Android has no issues but iOS does. So until Apple change the policy in iOS then there's no amount of fixes Deezer can do to fix this.

You guys opted to be on a restrictive platform so live with the restrictions in place
