Hi, since few updates ago, when Deezer connects to my bluetooth car audio it automatically lowers the volume to 50%…no matter how I left it. It’s annoying

Is this a bug or something to disable in the settings?
Thanks.

Hello @Dadoooor apologies for the late response.
Is this problem still happening?
Do you use Android Auto or Car Play in your car?
Thanks

Hello, yes, it’s still happening.

I don’t use either AA or CP, just plain old Bluetooth 😉.

To better understand the volume decreases in your car speakers?
Thanks

Yes, that’s correct.

Could you please check if you have the “normalise audio” option activated in your Deezer app?

Hi, it’s not activated.

This is a problem I also have. Whenever I connect either an iPhone or an iPad to a bluetooth speaker of any kind the bluetooth volume is always reset to 50% (in Deezer).

Same here. Glad to hear I’m not the only one.

Hi @Dadoooor @mrmusic33 , could you please update to the latest Deezer app version 8.0.34.5 and let me know if the problem persists.
Thanks

@Jaime.Deezer, unfortunately the problem seems to persist. Just got 50% bluetooth volume when I reconnected to my bluetooth NAD-amplifier this morning.

I have just updated deezer and tried to see if the problem persists and its still happening to me too even after the update. Please fix this its really annoying

Yes, the problem is still here for me also.
The app has gotten so buggy over the years, for instance now, when I try to run “Flow” from long press on home icon, I get this:

Hey @Dadoooor @mrmusic33, I believe that this is now some of the iPhone/iPad/Apple devices feature when you connect the device to a bluetooth speaker/earphones to protect the users from the ‘loud’ noise/music. As I also have the volume of the music ‘reduced’ to half of the volume bar when I connect my AirPods to my iPhone 🤔🤔🤔

I started to get it since I updated my iOS to the 18 version tho.

I dont get it when i connect to airpods only when i connect to car bluetooth and i kinda started to link it since i started using deezer which is like past 7 days.

Same issue here. Latest version of app, latest version of iOS, iPhone 16 Pro, whenever connected to car via Bluetooth audio is automatically reduced to 50% every time. Also happens after getting a phone call. Really needs to be fixed, it’s super annoying! Doesn’t happen with any other app I’ve tried (Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music).

Hi, have you tried disabling sound check on your iPhone/Ipad?

  • To disable Sound Check: Go to your iPhone's Settings, then tap on "Music." Toggle off the switch next to "Sound Check."

Up and follow, we are having the same issues in our household. Anybody found a solution yet. Indeed it happens after connecting and happens after a call. It defaults to 50% volume. In the car as well as when connected to the motorcycle. Annoying.

I checked it after the previous comments. Its indeed a Deezer issue. When on spotify, Youtube music or another app the behaviour does not show up.

When i connect to bluetooth playing anything on another platform > switch to Deezer > Instant volume drop to 50%.

Within Deezer it will drop on any (sort of) startup of Deezer, for example, when opening/connecting for the first time or after a call. Its annoying, and on the motorcycle a dealbreaker even, since there i cannot easily adjust my volume every time.

An easy test to see this behaviour is in the quick menu (top right) and change the play behaviour between Iphone and bluetooth, then u can see the volume changing every time.

Is this issue on the radar?  Im on the current build of Deezer and IOS with an Iphone 15 Pro.

Comfirming! Experiencing exactly the same! It’s soooooo annoying!

Changing any settings in Deezer App (normalize sound, etc) - doesn’t help at all.

I checked the other issues within the community to find a solution or common problem.

It seems to be connected to this tread

Here is a post from @Leonídia.Deezer where there is a update depending on other users problems and creating this annoying issue.

The post said “Hi everyone, Happy New Year to you all!

Our developers have shared some updates with us. In version 10.29, they’ve added a fix to improve the audio experience: when connecting to a Bluetooth speaker or using Airplay for the first time, the volume will automatically drop to 50% if it’s set to 100%, avoiding any sudden loud surprises.

Version 10.29 is now available on the App Store—don’t forget to update!”

Concluding this seems a (chosen) solution to one problem creating another. Please revert this, or make it a toggle or anything, because this is breaking the Deezer experience for me.

The amount of feedback on a bug/issue is also mind blowing to be honest. No response in more than a month.

@VeryStealth Totally agree with you!

You know, sometimes I just think of stopping using Deezer at all…

For example, for me - there is no iWatch App. Because I don’t know about others, but for me - it always shows the offline mode, even if the iPhone is near and is playing music….

Unfortunately, there are not so many better alternatives…  Please, anyone, don’t suggest Spotify or Apple Music or Youtube %)))

I feel you, though to be honest i have been using Deezer for i think about 7 years now and have not ever really considered leaving Deezer up until now. Even the times i used or checked this community feed it seemed like a place where we find solutions, but up until now it has been strangely quiet. And since the motorcycle volume issues defaulting 50% makes Deezer unuseable when travelling it may well be me looking for alternatives. Not because i am unhappy about the overall app and experience, but this is a personal dealbreaking bug (or do we call it a feature since we happily announced it?)

I just installed the Apple Watch app since i normally don’t use it. For me it does sync live though, maybe reinstalling it on your watch specifically might fix that issue and make you a bit happier :)

Sorry for the english btw, not native.
