Linux needs a native client for Deezer!

I know that exist a client for Windows and Mac, but I can't to find any one for Linux. In my opinion the web version es pretty bad and the company can develop a port for their client.
I think that is important to cover all the platforms for all the users.

I recently created an Ubuntu script to install Deezer based on the fantastic work done by IlyaGulya and SibrenVasse on an AUR package for Arch Linux. It should work on Debian too since Ubuntu is based on Debian, but I haven't tested it.

You can view instructions on how to install it here https://github.com/siphomateke/deezer. It's not at all official and isn't guaranteed to work with future Deezer versions but it's what I am now using.

I'm not sure why Deezer hasn't added support for Linux yet considering the Deezer desktop app for windows is an Electron app and runs just fine on Linux with a few minor tweaks.

Hopefully this helps my fellow Ubuntu users.

Of course I'd like Deezer to develop a Linux app, in fact, as a community manager I'd love to announce all new features our users request. At the moment, we're not in a position to prioritise this project, which we've started in the past. But I mean for this year, with all our new features scheduled for release - not forever. So I'll definitely keep passing on the message and defending the interests of our community, by discussing this with our product managers - no doubt about it. Thank you for your support and understanding.

 On Linux that has millions of music-consuming programmers, not having a native app is a deadly sin. Are losing are losing at least 100 to 500 thousand subscribers

Thank you for your honest feedback. It is actually none of the above. As you could read from my previous post, it just hasn't been prioritised. Considering our size, we can only dedicate our resources to a number of planned features and fixes. This year has been a hard-working and improved year for Deezer, with several important milestones achieved and more to come before the end of the year - some of those which will elevate our service to different levels, certainly.

So having a Linux app is an exciting prospect - and that's why we invested in Electron to bring more possibilities to our desktop users. We certainly have a proven interest, but it can't be done at the moment. We wanted to make that a transparent answer to our community users as we're doing with all our most popular suggestions recently.

Too bad, i’m a long-term Deezer user and switched to Spotify because Deezer doesn’t have a native player on linux, I can’t use my keyboards shortcut for the webplayer, also i can’t control my music on the desktop from the phone, nor i can seamless stop my music on the desktop and start playing on the phone as i leave my house, spotify is worse on the music side and quality, but not being able to do those things with Deezer is a deal breaker for me

You can install MellowPlayer on linux and this works nicely with Deezer:

That statement is vague at best; what plan can you use on MellowPlayer, e.g., will it support Hi Fi?

I can give you a reason why it's not working: we don't officially support Fedora yet, sorry about that! As I understand from a bit of research, Fedora is Linux-based, right? (please correct me if I'm wrong) That's why I moved your topic here.
You can make our developers prioritise the support of Linux by voting for this idea though!

Hey guys, just throwing in my spices. Since linux distros are becoming increasingly popular and I am running all my devices on dual boot windows/ubuntu already a deezer linux app would be indeed nice.
