Just do it. 😉 Might be a Premium feature perhaps if it costs too much server space and/or bandwidth. And please add internal Last.fm scrobbling to uploaded files, too (works with browser extension Web Scrobbler in the Deezer web player which cannot stream FLAC though). Would be great if we could listen to these FLAC files in any device as well, not only in the desktop app which allows HiFi streaming.
Google Play Music and Amazon Music allow this as well, but convert them to MP3 afterwards, not sure about Tidal or Apple Music (with ALAC files), Spotify cannot upload any files anyhow, only play local files on your device:
I asked Rudi this very question a few days and he brought this thread to my attention. ;-) Yes, this is definitely a good idea and gets my vote. :-) I don’t think anyone really wants to “down convert” their flac files into a lossy mp3 format, so let’s see if we can get the ball rolling on this initiative. :-)
Yes, we definitely need this. I asked Rudi this very question a few days ago and he brought this thread to my attention. :-) It makes a lot of sense and I don’t think anyone really wants to “down convert” their flac files into lossy mp3s. ;-) It gets my vote and hopefully a lot of others will vote for it and we can get the ball rolling on this initiative. :-)
I’m also in need of this. I left Tidal because it lacked an upload feature. Meager though the upload feature of Deezer is (you get one big list of uploaded songs that you then have to manually order into playlists. The Google Play Music feature was waaaaay better, ordering any tracks you uploaded into the correct artist and album in your library), at least there is some option to enjoy songs on all my devices through Deezer, that lack in their own collection.
However, I do find it very frustrating that while I pay for premium hifi quality music, I cannot upload my own Music in the same CD quality. That really just sucks.
If we say we're an app that focuses on providing high fidelity, the best option would be to upload files with the same quality. MP3s are proven not to be a high-sounding file. If you can't upload as many files as what's currently offered in MP3s, because they take up much more space, then uploading fewer files should be allowed, but in that format, right? @Leonídia.Deezer
Hi @Evonos! FLAC file uploads are still not in our plans for now, but I’ll pass along your feedback.
Thanks for sharing!
No updates or changes from this reply in January. We will inform you if there are any updates on this. Thanks
If the issue with FLAC uploads is the size they take up on your servers why not just let us add local files? Sure, A big benefit of uploading your own files is that your can remove them from your computer/phone and access them from other devices, but personally I’ll only be listening to music with my phone that will be downloaded for offline use anyways.

Deezer, stand out from the others and allow us to upload (and play) our lossless music files, please!

Please allow for us to upload FLAC’s or atleast the use of local files on your pc/mac?
This idea should be for now. Don’t know where to vote!
There is an “Upvote” button on the top left which you can still click on.
Thanks good sir! We still have many votes to go it seems.. I think it went under radar right now. Sadly :(
Right, it still would be nice to have of course and a unique feature that no other streaming site offers, as far as I know.

We need this! I am going between apple music and deezer and this would win me over 100%.
I have quite a bunch of unreleased masters that I’d like to import into deezer so it would be nice if this was finally a feature.
still a needed feature its 2024
Still needed in 2025 :P

Wouldn't anyone like to be able to upload that music that is not on Deezer in better quality?
😍

It just feels like all the feedback forums are kinda... Useless sadly.
