I don't have the ability to quickly find the current track in a long queue — I have to scroll for a long time and search for the track highlighted in red.

Very true, and very annoying when coming back to the play queue from checking and/or editing e.g. the loaded long playlist with up to 2k tracks.
Related to that it would help to avoid having to leave the play queue for these things instead, like direct ly deleting tracks in the playlist from the play queue.
