Humans can't hear above 20 kHz, and no recorded music has more than 96 dB of dynamic range. Therefore, higher resolution audio is unnecessary and provides nothing more than the placebo effect.

Hi, everyone.
I wanted to switch to Deezer because I find it easier to use than AMU, but I can hear a noticeable difference between AMU’s Ultra HD 24 bit audio and Deezer’s 16 bit audio on my Edifier S3000Pro’s and Sennheiser HD6xx’s.
Although my cat likes Deezer audio more (wonder why?), that does not count.
So, please. Make the 24bit 96kHz flac a reality… Thank you.

Hi I totally agree and wish Deezer's play back quality went to atleast 24/48 or even higher 24/192 like amazon music which I subscribe to, my girlfriend who is a Deezer subscriber is saying I should join Deezer, however having invested in a naim Streamer costing over £2,000 I obviously want to take advantage of Hi-Res Music quality, so in short come on Deezer get with the programme and support real Hi-Res play back quality music

The better the HiFI music quality, the better the listening quality on professional Audio equipment. I am FOR it!

Therefore, higher resolution audio is unnecessary and provides nothing more than the placebo effect.
If that’s true, why would studios etc. work with higher resolutions? Why do higher resolutions even exist?

There are better explanations out there, but I believe higher resolutions are beneficial in recording and editing purposes, but not as noticeable when listening. I believe Audio Science Reviews has some good videos on this.

I have going back and forth with apple music… there is a slight difference with 24 bit… you have to have good headphones. Or a hires amplifier, then you will notice the difference. Its so slight though …and 16 bit is still sufficient

I think that CD-quality is more than enough for the vast majority of people - and most of the market will likely struggle to tell the difference between that and a decent lossy file.
But, as other “hifi” streaming providers are offering higher quality streams then Deezer maybe should as well - if only to tick that box for people who might otherwise rule out using Deezer. But only if they can offer it at the same price - a “Deezer Premium Plus” tier would be dead in the water.

I agree the price increases are not good …. I think Deezer should add 24 bit and music videos…fix apple tv app its clunky… to stay relevant with the rest of them. If Deezer can make 16 bit and cd quality superior … it will be even more amazing!

Emotionally I support the idea of hi res streams, however in reality the results might be disappointing. Streams via Airplay 2 do not even support CD quality, thankfully Deezer still supports Airplay 1 which streams at CD quality. There is no Deezer Connect to control my KEF LS60’s so that is a no go. The KEF Connect app does not allow for full functionality of the features within Deezer, very frustrating and would more than negate the few streams that go in hi res. A hard wired streamer might support hi res, but is that within the realm of most users? Questions to answer I suppose, before getting in to the hi res realm.

Hello
Totally get where you're coming from – many headphones support Hi-res audio now, so it would be awesome if Deezer offered that option.
I'll make sure to pass this along to the team.
Stay tuned for any updates.

Good ideas but deezer already responded that they don't want to provide support for external DAC or lossless USB audio driver... They prefer to add quizz than supporting theirs audiophile users 😔

Doesn't anyone else want Deezer to have higher quality and be similar to services like Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music or Amazon Music? I see that it remains halfway between the other services and Spotify. And it honestly seems like a mistake to me...

i would also like to strongly support better sound quality up to 24bit-96 kHz at least. it makes a huge difference when you listen to qobuz in direct comparison via dac and decent headphones.

Since I have the equipment and the desire to play my music at 24-bit 192Khz… I may end up switching to Qobuz to get this.
Bring it to Deezer!

I think it's a mistake to stay halfway between normal resolution and maximum resolution. I understand that an increase in quality would mean increasing server storage, but I think that when it's decided (as the advertisement says) that HiFi quality is being offered, it should correspond to the highest possible audio/sound resolution. This is simply my humble opinion.

Aunque tengo la sospecha de que no sucederá pronto, dejo la idea aquí para ver si alguien más se anima a dejar su voto.
