I have a suggestion you might consider which is still really a niche right now, but could maybe explode just like podcasts did - radio shows. Probably the best known platform for these is Mixcloud and maybe Soundcloud. For example A State of Trance is followed by a larger number of people on Twitch and Mixcloud, and Spotify has an official playlists of ASOT (entire mix chopped up by song). Also, there are number of radio shows on BBC Radio 1 (e.g. Pete Tong Essential Mix). Finally, a number of popular DJs is mixing a radio show weekly, which are then hosted mainly to Mixcloud (probably the most famous are ASOT, Tiesto’s Clublife, Jacked Radio, Global DJ Broadcast, VONYC sessions, etc).
I believe it would be a great add-on to the existing podcast implementation (I believe a lot of people listen to radio shows and podcasts during commute, workout, programming, gaming...).
