It’s almost impossible to browse favourites on the desktop (and web) apps if you have more than a hundred favourites.
This is because a given favourites page (e.g. Artists) only loads a small subset of favourites at once. If you want to browse the entire list you need to scroll, wait for more to load, scroll more, wait for more to load etc. For example, getting to my artists that starts with the letter Z takes me about 2 minutes. To make matters worse, as soon as I navigate to a different page, the app forgets the artists list and I have to go through this process again.
This is an anti-user pattern that saves server costs at the expense of app utility. Maybe you can justify it on the web app, but the desktop app should cache these pages.
I am currently exploring Deezer as an alternative to Spotify, but given this kind of app design I will not be making the switch.
