very bad interface in Yamaha musiccast app

They usually develop slowly, so you might not want to hold your great while waiting :)

I think Yamaha has to fix this, not Deezer. 

I agree, the Musiccast integration is not good.

Fundamentally I like it better than the Spotify Connect option, but there are too many features of Deezer missing, so I'll switch back to Spotify till Yamaha has improved it's client

Tidal is a less evil option than Spotify - similar connect option that uses the native Tidal app if I’m not mistaken. 

Still with Deezer, and it seems they and Yamaha just keep passing the buck, but yeah the longer this goes on the more appealing Tidal seems. 

I've tried now Tidal and Deezer as alternatives, both are not great with Musiccast and on my Yamahas the Tidal connect option is not available.

Qobuz could be another option, however I am back on Spotify, works and is no hazzle
