I am a new user, exploring the service. I will pay for a subscription but NOT BEFORE I AM GUARANTEED that I can switch off, kill the Automated Recommendations service COMPLETELY.

e.g. not just as a toggle option at the end of a queue or likewise….Can Deezer make me happy?

Hi @paul500, thank you for your message and for choosing Deezer.

Currently, there is no option to turn off automated recommendations on the mobile app, but it is available on the Web and Desktop app. To do this, simply go to the queue and disable it.

However, if you search for a track and play it, the app will automatically generate a track mix, and there is no way to disable this feature.

But, if you listen to a playlist or album, then you have the power to decide whether or not you want automated recommendations.

Hi Leonidia, thanks for answering my question.

For you and your devs to consider (I hope at least): I left Spotify because of their pushy attitude. I am an Old Skool listener of music, used to CD disks that just stop playing at the end. SIlence after music is highly underrated…. When, for example,  I fall asleep or feel strongly relaxed after the last track I just hate to to be interrupted by uncalled for tunes or tracks. And more in general, I know a lot of music, I know what I like in my music, and I am (not always) open for suggestions. I may sometimes be, but I simply wish to be in control. ALWAYS. It is as simple as this. And I understand from reading in this community that I am not alone in this wish.

So, to put it bluntly, why not create a nice clean, simply to operate button that you (suggestion) could call MOD, Master of Deezer, er something like that, which allows your paying customers to stay in control? And also make this availabe on my Android device (Why even make me crawl upstairs to my desktop?, is this the nineties or so? )

If Deezer is really interested in receiving my 10 euros every month I hope you will give this thought careful considerations…..

It is definitely a good suggestion @paul500
I’ll pass the feedback to our devs, however this doesn’t guarantee that things will change in the short term at least.
Apologies for the inconvenience

Hi Jaime,

Thanks for putting things into perspective. I will hold back paying my fee in anticipation of -what I hope at least - realisation of my wishes as a user….

Over the past week everyone that I have spoken with that uses a streaming service have mentioned how much they like the automated recommendations. Not all were Deezer users, but the introduction to new music seems to be appreciated by many people. I guess Deezer, and other services, have to cater to the majority of users while still trying to keep individuals happy, tough call! For me, I get my new music primarily from the “for you” section on my app but occasionally use the automated recommendations to continue on in a certain genre, for example after playing an album by a country artist. If I want to change it, I just touch “pause”, or switch playlists.

Don't worry, dear man. Nothing will change in your world. All I ask for is an additional option as I am not “many people” but I represent a group that likes things differently.  Nothing alarming here.
