Shazam link to Deezer not working on Android and iOS

Same issue. Galaxy s10e. Have reinstalled both shazam and deezer apps, no change. Would use song catcher if it was as effective as shazam, but it's not….

on my iPhone X I have this issue since weeks!

When trying to play a shazammed song out of the Shazam APP it just opens/switches to Deezer - but nothing more happens.
This feature worked already in the past very bad because a lot of songs weren’t played and the UI of Deezer does NOT handle that issue. Therefore I ask you to generally rework this feature.

 

Deezers “Song Catcher” is for sure NO OPTION - because it NEVER recognised a song on my end…

 

Please let us use the best available APP for this → Shazam - and do not try to copy Shazam this won’t work…

I'm having the same issue too. I used to have the option to open in Deezer but this has now gone. Tried uninstalling both apps and reinstalling..Still no Deezer options. I have recently updated to android 11 and oneUI 3.0 on my S10.

This should be fixed, we tested it and it works fine. Could you please uninstall the apps, restart your device and reinstall them to test this out?

Open Shazam, on a Shazamed song click “…” at the top right of the full-screen track view. Then click on “open in Deezer”, you should have your track playing in Deezer.

Only just seen this thread. I just installed Shazam on an iPhone 11Pro and on a Samsung Galaxy s9 running Android 10 to see if I could replicate the problem.

The iPhone version appears to be locked to Apple’s own music service, and I could not find a link to Deezer.

The Android version also has prominent links to Apple Music, but when you have a song selected, if you navigate to the Song, Lyrics or Video screens, there is a three-dot menu in the bottom right corner, in which the first two options are “Open in Apple Music” and “Open in Deezer”. The latter successfully opens the Deezer app, but I don’t know how it would behave if the Deezer app were not installed on the phone, and it is a very awkward way to access it.

Shazam’s developers naturally make their own decisions, but I’m glad to see from @Rudi’s comment above that Deezer is looking into this.

The link is back on my device. Shazam is now able to redirect me to Deezer app to play music. Only saw the changes on16 May 2021.

Still no differnce here.

My daughter has iphone 8+ she has the option deezer but sometimes the somg doesn't open in deezer when she clicks the button.

My other samsung phone a51 also doesn't work anymore...using deezer through shazam. There is no clicking option at all for deezer like my phone

It has to do with the Shazam version and their recent update.

Hey @NicNic both. We already raised it with them and will raise it again later in the year. In the meantime, I also suggest you do the same - they're a big company :sweat_smile:

Shazam link to deezer not been working for couple of months either  on my IPhone 11 or  iPad . Bit annoying 🧐

It means Shazam opens up  Deezer but doesn’t find the songs at all.

How can I sort it out?

I have been experiencing the same issue for some weeks now. Quite annoying, and the Deezer songcatcher works only on limited songs. I trust mostly Shazam. This issue seems to be known now for some time. Any progress? I am using iPhone XR but seems that device  is not the concern.

I actually checked it out when  songcatcher was launched . There was a problem to find brand new and not really popular songs. Anyway I’m gonna check it your one again.

Could you please confirm if this happens to all Shazamed songs or only on some?
Our devs are checking this again.

Good point @Not your Dream because this was fixed on our end recently - everything seems fine on our side.

I have a Samsung Note 10, this feature always worked. And yes, all my apps are updated. Deezer "has been working" on this for months. What kind of techs are working for you? I'm moving over to Spotify.

Thank you for your feedback, the contents of which I have noted.

Do you or anyone know how I can communicate with Shazam?  I have searched Google but cannot find  any links to a  Shazam Community or Forum? I found Shazam for Apple now there’s surprise but nothing for Shazam Android. If anyone has communicated with Shazam for Androids, please send me their links. You help would be appreciated. 

If all fails, then I will have to sell my new Samsung S20 and continue with my Samsung S9.  I can’t understand why I can open Deezer in Shazam with my Samsung S9 without any issues.  I noticed all new Samsung S20s there’s issues with opening Deezer in Shazam.  I hope the developers can short this problem out asap.

Hey @stecam77 

Have you tried removing your Deezer app, restarting the Pixel and reinstalling it?

If yes, then please give me your Android app version, it could be that there's a difference on the release for this bug.
