if a cd has a compilation of tracks it halts after every track, and on Classical music some times it fails to give continues playing.

Hello @Michael Robert Clench, we have the option to activate Crossfade on iOS and are working on developping in on all devices:

Some albums have multiple tracks that flow directly from one into another. Pink Floyd, among others, and included classical music. It’s obnoxious to not have these tracks seemlessly flow from one song to another. It breaks the mood of the moment. It takes me back to the old 8-track days and is extremely annoying. Other streaming services have had this forever. I moved to Deezer because I was promised that it was as good as the other services. In most ways it is, but this one is rather annoying.

Also, crossfade isn’t necessarily the answer, based on your description. Seemless Continuity of streaming when going from track to track is what we want and need - just like a CD or an LP playing. This should be really easy to implement. Even Spotify has had this. My other pet peeve is the number of times I have to login on my phone vs others that never ask me to re-sign in. Obnoxious as hell.

@Michael Robert Clench@LewisBoyden  I think you guys are talking about gapless playback, that’s when there’s no transition between the tracks whatsoever (unlike crossfade).

Gapless, for some reason and unfortunately, is still not implemented in Deezer desktop client. Seems like it’s not a priority for the developers right now and it sucks, because for me gapless is a piece of core functionality. Stuff like Pink Floyd or BTBAM is not listenable without it.

However though, Deezer has gapless playback in iOS and Android clients, as well as in web player. So, to have no gaps between the tracks just go to deezer.com instead of using the lame desktop client and listen from there. You can also install deezer.com as a Progressive Web App and it will basically act as a separate app but in a discreet browser window, and gapless will be working too. I’m currently using Deezer this way and it seems to be working good enough, but still I would like a proper app instead. Here’s the guide how to do it on Chrome at least: https://medium.com/@dhormale/install-pwa-on-windows-desktop-via-google-chrome-browser-6907c01eebe4

Also gapless should be working fine on mobile devices, which is a relief. I hope that community managers will add this thread to the feature requests for desktop client because it’s ridiculous not to have such a basic feature in 2023 especially when you already have it in your other clients :)

Also, please upvote the feature request here, maybe it will help us draw more attention to the absence of this feature: https://en.deezercommunity.com/ideas/gapless-playback-between-tracks-259/index17.html
